Scivation, ever thought of doing a program like this?
Chad Waterbury at TNation did a program he calls 10/10. It is supposed to help you drop 10 lbs of fat and gain 10lbs of muscle in 12 weeks, switching back and forth between cutting and bulking. It includes a diet program and a weight/cardio program. I know Team Scivation does a lot now and has their hands full, but have you ever thought of doing a program like this?

If you can post a link I will look at the program. That being said, I would like to see how many people actually lose 10 lbs of fat AND gain 10 lbs of muscle in 12 weeks... accomplishing one of those things would be great results. Accomplishing both at the same time would be hard to do...

What was Marc's accomplishment? Didn't he gain like 30lbs of muscle and all while losing fat over 3 months?

my 2cents
i don't know about the program but i think its possible but with more time. In 12 weeks you might gain 5 pounds of muscle and lose 2-3 pounds of fat.
I think its just a matter of manipulating carbs and controlling insulin; for instance, i started a year ago and i got my bodyfat tested by the bodpod 3 times already and these is what ive accomplished following the lifestyle cut diet
June 30, 07
total weight: 166.3 fat weight:38.9 LBM weight:127.1
Dec 1, 07
total weight: 158.6 fat weight:25.9 LBM weight:132.6
June 28, 08
total weight: 165.4 fat weight:19.8 LBM weight:145.6

Marc gained 30 lbs of muscle over a long period (more than 3 months) and gained some fat while gaining this muscle. This was also his first true all-out bulk.
I am not going to spend the money to look at the program so I cannot comment on it.

He never guarantee's that you will get 10/10 results. Thats the goal of the program. I wouldn't call somebody a liar because of a program they have devised with a 10/10 goal. If that was the case, than most of the programs and supplements would be pure B.S., according to what they claim.

Have you thought of building a 12-16 week program that went back and forth from CUT to Bulk?

He stated that he hadn't looked at the program so he couldn't comment on the Waterbury program.
He did not say, "I am not interested, nor do I want to do a program that is a CUT/BULK combo program". Just that he wasn't going to pay to look at somebody else's program. Did I miss something, or were you reading between the lines on that?

i learn as much about bodybuilding from t-nation as i do reading the back of a yogurt
no one is going to add 10 lbs of muscle and lose 10lbs of fat in 12 weeks unless you are a genetic freak or it is your first time lifting

I'm sure if they thought such a plan was feasible, there would already be a book.

By those thoughts, they will never come out with anything new because they have thought of everything. A successfull company is ever changing, always expanding, always growing, always coming out with the next big thing that will attract more customers/clients.

I do not like the whole switching back and forth between cutting and bulking. The body getting into a "rhythm" due to enzyme up-regulation (for example increasing the enzymes involved in fat oxidation when on I high fat/low carb diet). IMO one would be better off focusing on either gaining lean mass or losing fat for a longer period of time. I could easily set up a program where 1 week you would be 500 calories OVER maintenance and the next week you would be 500 UNDER maintenance (Gain then Lose), but I don't think that is ideal.
One could calculate what it would take to "theorectically" gain 10 lbs of lean mass and lose 10 lbs of fat in 12 weeks but in the real world it would be extremely hard for this to happen.

Yups, it would even be hard for a genetic freak that let himself go. Don't believe everything ya read folks. The Scivation programs have at least been proven to work, no empty promises here. Work hard, follow the protocol, a little patience and tenacity. You will be rewarded. That simple.
