Good point.
Ok, I like my protein shakes to taste like they came from Dairy Queen, yet still be beneficial to me.

Is there anything you can toss in that will give it some flavor and not make it into a totally unhealthy snack? I've been lucky to have never had really bad tasting stuff when I was trying different products. A little experimenting might make the swill go down a little easier.
P.S. The "hershey's syrup/ dog turd" response got posted while I was writing this. ROFLMAO!!!

Red - I am like you in that I don't have time for/detest meal preparation. But we differ on this protein shake business. I can't be bothered with it myself at the best of times. But based on what you're describing - and I sympathize - if the stuff makes you gag and puke, don't take it. Throw it out.
BTW, you gave me a few laughs this morning with your responses to others: "let it go chief", "I feel like in the Spanish Inquisition", "do you work for the N.Y. Times". I don't mean this in a negative way, just that it cracked me up.

Actually vomit tastes a little better than zero-carb Isopure mixed in water?.!
I had to mix a little milk in order to even gulp it down?.

Besides if you vomit, you get to use the powder twice, so it's like paying 50% off. I don't understand what the gripe is about.

The MT Nitro-Tech did the same thing for me. I'd drink it and then feel this sick feeling like it's not going to stay down. Not sure why that ever was. So I stopped buying it after buying it twice to make sure. As for powders not mixing. I've found that all cold waters have this issue. I have been warming my drinks up in the microwave for years now. I just put the water in there for a 1:20 ( 20oz of water ). Then whatever I'm taking dissolves quickly. I do this for everything, pre work out drinks, protein, gainers, etc. Just what I do anyway.

Still no one has claimed to have consumed the entire jug of isopure. Perhaps I should follow your advice and ditch this stuff Whisky Jack or I could become the first human ever to consume a whole bottle. I wonder if there is a record book for such a thing.

Does anybody around here drink MuscleMilk? I absolutely love the stuff. Best tasting and easiest disolving protein powder I have ever had hands down. I'm practically addicted to the stuff. Chocolates my favorite.

Just got (2) 5lb tubs of Met-Rx 100% Ultramyosyn Whey in Chocolate. It's one of the best tasting powders I've had (and I've had some barf-inducing ones). Actually gets pretty thick when mixed with just plain water.

At a 170lbs I'm not too worried about fat besides:
Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs), the predigested ?fast burning fats,? are more likely burned for muscle energy and heat than stored as fat. 20% of Muscle Milk lipids are MCTs.
And despite all our hard core bbers who'll take their protein straight out of atuna fish can, yummy is important to me. If it tastes like recycled vomit then I won't be inclined to continue to keep my protein grams to bodyweight ratio up. I eat the tuna too but I'll be damned if I don't add a teaspoon of lowfat mayo.

Now I'm wondering what flavor the OP got. Never cared for the taste of carob....wonder if that's part of the 'barf' flavor?
I'd guess just about any would taste better mixed in with a pint of milk vs water....& not cold water at least. Can't blame Red if he spent the $ and it's making him puke.

Vanilla flavored. If someone wants to pay the shipping I will be happy to send this wonderful bottle of protein to them free of charge. It has been opened but the bacteria in the air certainly cannot hurt the flavor.

LOVE MuscleMilk. Best tasting protein powder/meal replacement I've ever had. Always have a tub around.
HATE Issopure. I bought it once, and yes I finished the jug. It didn't kill me, but didn't enjoy it either. I chugged it down as fast as I could. Sadly, it's not the worst tasting stuff I've tried. I really hate the super sweet protein powders, those really make me gag when trying to drink them.
Currently using ON Optimum Whey Gold Standard. Taste is okay. I'm mixing a scoop of double rich chocolate and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Probably going to try Scivation Whey next, especially if it's still cheap.

I am surprised that people still try to drink their powders as a shake. When I quit drinking milk, I tried every best tasting protein out there but couldn't stomach any of them in water. When I started eating them as a pudding, they all tasted better, especially with a few oats added.
If you find a powder that is really disgusting, just add in some sugar free pudding and it will taste fine.
I couldn't stomach met-rx mrp, lean mass matrix, infusion, pro-mr, even syntha6 in water but they are all yummy mixed in a pudding consistency.

It does taste really good, but it is more of a meal replacement than just a protein powder though.
I've been pretty lucky -- I've liked most of the powders I've tried. The only one that I really couldn't take was ON's chocolate casein. Choking that stuff down was truly a test of mind over matter -- I had to enter some zen-like kung-fu mental state before I could work up enough courage to drink the stuff. It was thick and slimy, and tasted more like stagnant pond water than anything resembling "chocolate".
Surprisingly though, ON's banana cream casein was friggin' awesome. Tasted like a banana milkshake! Hard to believe that the same company could make one product so good, yet another product so terrifyingly awful.

Well I for one can't mix with water, it always taste like shiat. I mix with 2% milk a bananna and low fat vanilla yogurt.
I hear what your saying about a blender. I tried bringing the powder and mixing at work and just got huge clumps of powder mixed in with the liquid, talk about gag, now I will blend mine in the morning at home then put it in a container and bring it to work. A little shake of the container when you are ready to drink it and you set, no clumps and grit at all.
