We talked a little about each other's weekends on sunday and she told me she had plans sunday so I just said no big deal.

I'm not going to txt/call her for at least a few days. I got the vibe that she might feel that Im trying too hard for her, always initiating convo and txing her too much. So im going to just sit back a few days and see if she says hi to me. If she contacts me without any effort on my part then I'll go from there. If not I'll prob just delete her number

Im w/u on that 1! Then again those that think "40" is old r still young themselves. When I was 21, I didnt want anyone more than 5 yrs older than me. 5 yrs ago, I was goin 4 the younger ones (15 yrs younger), but it was nothing more than a phase - just depends on whats right & what works. That generally happens when you try too hard to prove yourself to someone. You pretty much were trying to convince her that you were mature enough and that age was generally a number. But instead, your desperate attempt to do this, actually made you look your age. So I wouldn't be surprised if throughout all of this, she was just hoping you would just stop talking to her completely. Now that you've decided to do that, don't be surprised she doesn't contact you.

Sorry but if you had just been yourself and just chat with her, every now and then allowing her to get in contact with you and initiate conversation instead of you doing it all the time, you may have actually had a chance.

At least it's a lessen learned and now you know how to react and behave towards or around older females. My girlfriend is about 2 years older than me, not that much of a gap but you can see the maturity difference definitely. I could just imagine if she was 4 years older than me.

When I was 19 I went out with a 28 yr old. We got along. But when I hung out with her and her friends they gave her **** about me haha. Just in a joking nice manner. I found it hard to fit in aswell.

some people get really hung up on the age thing. if a 22-year-old asked me out i'd probably say no...i often make certain assumptions because usually i'm right and i don't like wasting my time.

is she really worth all this effort? ignore her and see if she makes any noise, otherwise neeeeext. no more texting her though BAD!!!!

I am 26 and dated a guy who was 22. We were in same class at uni and he thought I was his age and I was a bit embarrassed when I told him that I was older than him, however I am immature for my age and look younger than I am and he was mature so it worked well.
