Just got back from 8 months in helmand, it's good to see there are people that appreciate what we're all doing, i would gladly give my life to protect any US/UN civilian who's life and freedom is at risk from foreign enemies.
God bless you all for your thoughts and prayers, god knows we need them.

Just come back from being in the local Rememberance Parade here in the UK, and my thoughts go to all those still serving abroad from both the UK and US and to all those we've lost so far.
Great job, guys. It's very much appreciated even if we don't say it as often as we should.

May our troops stay safe, and succeed in their mission! Here is a prayer for their safety (and if you personally know anyone who is serving, please feel free to share this prayer with them):
"O God, my God! I have set out from my home, holding fast unto the cord of Thy love, and I have committed myself wholly to Thy care and Thy protection. I entreat Thee by Thy power through which Thou didst protect Thy loved ones from the wayward and the perverse, and from every contumacious oppressor, and every wicked doer who hath strayed far from Thee, to keep me safe by Thy bounty and Thy grace. Enable me, then, to return to my home by Thy power and Thy might. Thou art, truly, the Almighty, the Help in Peril, the Self-Subsisting." --Baha'u'llah
And here are some free prayers, that anyone can feel free to use: http://reference.bahai.org/en/t/c/BP/

...Also, here is a prayer for America:
"O Thou kind Lord! This gathering is turning to Thee. These hearts are radiant with Thy love. These minds and spirits are exhilarated by the message of Thy glad-tidings. O God! Let this American democracy become glorious in spiritual degrees even as it has aspired to material degrees, and render this just government victorious. Confirm this revered nation to upraise the standard of the oneness of humanity, to promulgate the Most Great Peace, to become thereby most glorious and praiseworthy among all the nations of the world. O God! This American nation is worthy of Thy favors and is deserving of Thy mercy. Make it precious and near to Thee through Thy bounty and bestowal." --'Abdu'l-Baha

Final Journey home
Final Journey home
Killed in action the week before, the body of Staff Sergeant FirsJohn C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City , Georgia , just south of Atlanta , on June 11, 2009 . The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough , Georgia . A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time.

It was a day that he set aside his personal agony for the sake of friendship and honour.
Plastered in bandages and in excruciating pain, Fusilier Thomas James left his hospital bed for the funeral of the comrade who was fatally wounded alongside him.
In a humbling symbol of the suffering of our troops in Afghanistan - one which the Ministry of Defence might have preferred to keep out of public view - he paid his respects to Fusilier Shaun Bush.
Fusilier James lost his right arm in the same Taliban bomb blast that killed his friend five weeks ago.
