You call that being a smart? Let me show you how it's done!
Ummm? Is your name Bob Cicherillo? Are you an IFBB Pro? Did you train with icons like Tom Price, Charles Glass, etc?
NO! You didn't so mind your business!
But to answer your question..................I've been cutting since the first week of June. If I continue to cut until my last competition which is in November that means I'll be cutting for 5 months.
I am asking Bob his opinion on cutting that long and would he recommend this strategy.

OK, maybe I was being a little smart.
But it was also somewhat of an honest question, in case there was something else that I was not aware of. I'm here to learn too.
No need to get worked up over it.

OK we can kiss and make up later.
I've been cutting so my bitch-o-meter has been running a little high lately.
If I need to cut for that long to get all the muscles in my legs to show I will do it but if I don't then I won't. I just want to know what Bob thinks about this plan.

I dont know what your conditioning is now but they dont look so bad on your avi. I can see some good tone there, it could just be a matter of putting on more muscle, or more more practice flexing them. Even a lot of guys with good legs dont look that impressive until they learn to show them well.

Right now I'm only 10 pounds above my weight from my last comp. This is the pic one week out from my last comp two months ago and this is how much the muscles in my thighs showed.
I am still holding fat in my thighs because I have to really flex in order for the little muscles that you see now in that pic to show. With my upper body I don't have to anything. The muscles in my abs, arms and back show without flexing but the muscles in my legs take much effort to show under the layer of bodyfat.

First off i'd like to say thanks Bob. With so many pros not willing to help and with even more having less than useful factual information you find the time to answer our questions.
Earlier you posted that you have one leg day in your training routine*of course you've already attained the physique that you want*.
Later you gave the tip to work Hams on a separate day. Is this only for someone with lagging Hams or for anyone looking for overall leg development.
Again thanks Bob "the hardest working man in BBing"

Doing lots of leg extension's? Leg extensions really bring out the quad insertions into the knees for me. That seems to be where your the weakest in your legs. You obviously have a very nice sweep .

Imo your thighs look good, but i'm no judge. Icy is right. Leg extensions will tone or build them, but the fat layer might just be genetic. Great question to ask the Pro Bob Chik.

I just got back from the gym and today I did some burn outs on the leg extensions machine. I didn't see this message before hand. I just did them out of instint. I guess I was right.

I know! I felt bad afterwards but I couldn't help it.
Once Bob answer my question I'm going to take a break from the forum until my August comp is over with.

I whined about this to the guys in the IFBB forum and one of them suggested that I cut until they show.
I have a comp in August another one October 11 and the last one for this year November 6
Do you suggest that I continue cutting until the muscles in my Quads and Hams show?
Ok, Ok, one more.
After my November show how many mouths should I train (focusing on building muscles) before cutting and competing again?
I've been told that a competitor can't gain muscles while cutting so I figured that maybe I'll use this year to get rid of as much bodyfat as possible and spend 2009 and beyond gaining.
What do you think about my situation?

SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEXUAL CHOCOLATE!!
Congrats, you are in the 99.9% of women and where they carry weight.
The key to getting your physique in synch, is using my slow cardio approach in order to prteserve as much muscle as possible in the upper body, while getting rid of stored fat in the lower body.
Keeping the carbs a little higher, while increasing the length of your cardio sessions will be your best bet....sacrificing too many carbs, will result in a wasted away upper body and better legs...not the winning ticket.
How many times a week are you doing cardio, and at what length?

I'm doing slow cardio 1 hour at 7AM
I lift my weights at 1:30ish
I do my second slow 1 hour at 8PM (be leaving for that soon)
I do this 5 days a week.
PS - Your idea about slow cardio worked for me the last time so I've been sticking with it.

Hey Bob I have been reading through the thread and I really am intrigued by the slow cardio. Mainly because I hate cardio that isn't basketball haha..
well anyway... I was wondering what you suggest as far as pre/post slow cardio nutrition. Someone asked if for first thing in the morning cardio if a protein shake was okay..you said yes. Had this been later in the day say 5 pm would you suggest a low/no carb meal pre-cardio?
Thanks! I am very interested in using this method while I cut.

So Bob, my cardio routine is OK right?
The only thing I need to do is slightly increase my carbs?
I do all of this until my legs come in?

Thats so interesting that carbs can affect lower and upper body fat levels. Now GA, im the opposite to u lol, at 14% bf ive got cut and feathered quads even though a layer of bodyfat, but my upper body is still holding tons of fat, so im thinking its largely genetic at what points u lose the fat.
maybe Bob can shed so light on what he has seen over the years with other bodybuilders and how they transform as they cut down?

Yes...the cardio is fine.
Keep in mind...I don't know alll the particulars of your prep, especially your diet.
Dont expect your legs to match your upper body...rarely does in women

Carbs only affect fat levels in it's entirety in relation to the body...where YOU happen to store fat is an individual thing.....generally speaking, men are the opposite of women...tend to store more fat in the upper body (waist, back)

Bob I dont think this question has been asked yet. Aside from the comic book characters, who , or rather, what bodybuilder was your biggest inspiration? Who's physic did you want? And who do you think was the greatest bodybuilder of all time. Not win wise, but just, all around the greatest.
