Thanks Ben...I spent a lot of time going over every detail and consulting with everyone I could to make sure I didn't look like I was lost on stage. From diet to posing and color I tried to ensure I was at home on stage and it really worked out.

I really hope I can help some others get on stage...it was a crazy journey and honestly I have been so full speed since the show ended that it has not sunk in yet that I did a show...if that makes sense.

Well Lando after seeing how I looked and seeing some Natural shows last year I feel really confident I can compete for a Natty Pro Card. I plan on tweaking a few things and trying look even tighter next time out with some extra muscle in a few places...although this year may be tough to add much size while staying close to show condition.

Thanks Ryan....I already feel bigger. I have been insanely vascular these last few days so much so that I am thinking I may have to change my diet some...

Thanks FF...I felt at home on stage and was very confident, I got comments from many people that I had the best stage presence and poise and I think that came from all the practice....I had a few people I didn't know tell me I did well and that was what surprised me. My friends have to say I did well...lol.

Nice piece of posing there. I cant help but hold my poses a little bit longer though. I like to turn a bit as I do certain poses so I give the whole audience a good look at that particular pose. Ive kinda just thrown my last couple routines together though haha. Hell, they couldnt even play my music at the last show...

Thanks guys...I added an entry in my bodyblog since it was too much to type onto a thread post. Here is the link to my show experience from getting a manicure on Thursday, to winning my division, getting drunk downtown and going to Disney all day Monday....

Thanks and Congrats!
Just read your blog Paul and you painted a vivid picture of the week-end. Combined with the videos, I almost feel like I was there myself! The body you've sculpted through your hard work and dedication is your greatest reward - but I'm sure you'll keep the trophy! Thanks again for this thread and every success in whatever you decide to do next!

Thanks Tony, I will post some more pictures when I get them from my friends. I still have a few cameras full of pictures to get and then I can paint a really vivid picture.

Back in the gym again last night. I was going to take more time off because I was actually still sore from the show. I think from all the pumping up I did I managed to get some muscle soreness, especially in my back. I did a lot of bent over rows so I guess that is what did it. I played basketball on Sunday for a few games and went to Disney all day Monday so being active was not a problem. I start school again this Thursday so I didn't want to take off any more time.
I went in last night and did a nice chest, shoulder and tricep workout. I have been eating like a horse...actually ate a 1/2 pint of ice cream when i got home yesterday. My weight is around 210 but I feel like I could be 220 in a few days if I ate the way my body wants me to. I got a crazy pump and looked massive after my workout....Carbs make such a difference for me. After doing some posing in the locker room I still think I could hit the stage in 6 weeks if I want to. I have gained a little fat but I am still extremely vascular and even more dense than I was the day of the show...
I am going to continue to enjoy the week and do cardio every day and see where I stand. tonight is legs so I will push it and see how they feel...with all the food I am eating I should be getting some strength back. I will probably post some pics and also speak to Layne at the end of the week about doing a show in July 19th here in Florida...if I don't do that one then I will do one in November and go for my pro card...my confidence is pretty high right now, I really wanna see how I stack up against top level Natty's...

There were no cross overs allowed due to the size of the show. I would have done open just for fun were it allowed.

Legs
last night was my first good leg workout in over a week. I have managed to eat pretty well this last week and felt pretty strong going into the workout but I was soon forced to realize that my strength will not come back as soon as I would like. I started with Front Squats and really wanted to test the waters and use some really good weight but it was not to be. Instead I ended up keeping the pace pretty quick, the form really deep and getting lots of blood in my entire leg. I had crazy vascularity on my quads which was pretty cool. My workout looked like this.
4 sets front squats
4 sets hack squats
4 sets leg press, supersets with calve raises
3 sets lunges
3 sets SLDL
3 sets leg curls
3 sets leg extensions, superset with standing calve raises
I got this all done in under an hour, I plan to start adding some strength back soon but for now its all about form and pace.
My weight came down under 210 as well even though I have been eating tons of food...if I can keep my weight close to 204 I may do the show in July after all....I feel like if I start carb watching and hitting some HIIT sprints I could get back into show shape in a few weeks...we shall see. I am going to LA for the 4th of July weekend and after that I will see where I stand.

Well its been just about a week since my show and its already seems like a distant memory. This week has been so busy with work, I started school again and I was also off on Monday for a day at Disney World. I have some nice pics from the weekend that I thought I would share, a photo journey of the weekend. I also added a really long entry about the weekend into my bodyblog for those interested...it was too long for this thread. Good luck to all those competing in the coming days, weeks and months...let's start with a backstage pic...
Here is a pic of Javy and I, we go to the same gym. He placed third.
Here is a fun pic after pre judging with my friends outside...just to show you how ridiculous the pro tan looks in day light...
This is the presentation of the first place trophy and the beginning of my week long smile.
Shortly after...huge dinner at Outback..
And not to be too cliche but I do live in Orlando...I took Monday off work and went to Disney with a great crew...

x2 Paul, u looked awsome, and you did such a proffessional job, its amazing even to think this was ur 1st show! Did u just use protan btw? ur colour looks spot on, another thing which people also cant get right first time! u really nailed every aspect of the prep, and left nothing to chance! everyone can learn from this journal, especially begginers.
