Unhappy Detox and Cleanse(Optimum Health Nutrition)

I need help guys.....

I started taking this Colon cleanser/Detox supp from Optimum Health & Nut...and its KILLING ME!!!!

Ive never used any detox or colon cleanse supp before but thought I would try it out to flatten out my stomach and possibly clean out my intestinal track.

The product suggest taking the pills on an empty stomach in either the morning or before bed or even both.(2 pills per serv) Until you have 2-3 bowel movements a day....

So I started the first couple days with just the 2 in the morning then progressed to taking the 2 more before bed.

Im experiencing STRONG stomach pain that lasts throughout the day.....lack of sleep....and 2-3 very liquidity(sorry gross) bowel movements a day....(duh)

Ive never taken this type of a supp before so I wasn't sure whether or not this was a common factor so I thought I would post and see what you guys thought.....

Here's the link to the site for Ingredients etc.....

http://www.ohnutrition.com/detox.html

Im also currently taking:

2,000 milligrams of Glucosamine in the morning w/ the Detox/Colon Cleanse

and 35 grams of ephedrine from a product called Black Diamond by(Tokyo Nut)

...all in the morning

followed by:

ZMA at night before bed with another serving of the Detox/Colon Cleanse

Please help guys.....for now I have stopped taking the stuff all together except the ephedrine product the glucos and the ZMA.

Mate, don't bother with any supplements.

Just eat fruit and only fruit, for 5 days.

This will clean out your whole system of any junk, and is good to do every 6 months or so.

Depending on how much crap has accumulated in your system you could feel under the weather for a few days after starting it, as your body rids itself of crap, but after the 5 days you'll feel a million dollars.

It can help clear up alot of niggles.

Bro I feel that these whole detox things are scams personally. They seem to be fancy and over priced laxatives. You need all of that garbage in your digestive system, its a part of your bodies physiology. By taking detox pills you're not going to pull fat molecules from outside of your peritoneal cavity into your viscera. What do you believe you need to detox from?

idk.....Ive just heard and read in various mags that you should go through some type of detox from years of overloading on protein for body building etc.

Plus....for as long as I can remember Ive always had a bit of a stomach boldge after having a meal...what I mean is that I would and do always feel over fed and that my stomach sticks out for a long period of time following a meal and Ive always HATED that.

Im not really sure if thats just something that happens naturally or if I have an abundance of accumulated protein build up along my intestinal track.

I have friends that have never experienced the feeling I have after a meal and some that do....maybe its just a genetic thing or just my imagination...all I know is that I don't like the way these supps make me feel.

Im ganna try what Big Biceps said above and go for the purely fruit thing for a week and see how that goes...

thx guys

Getting information from magazines is a dangerous practice.

...oh please not you!!

Ive seen your posts before in the past.....frankly I really don't care to hear from you to tell you the truth

You do sound educated...I'll give you that much, but just because you know a thing or two doesn't give you the right to talk crap to people the way you do.

It is possible to give advice respectfully you know..... ..Imagine that!!!

Further more your reputation means nothing to me.....until I see a positive response from you to ANY member on this site my view will remain the same.

thx but no thx Mr. Horse

Keep rejecting common sense knowledge-based advice and you'll continue to be unhappy.

Make sure your regular diet is regumented with enough fiber. You could try adding some metamucil as a supplement. Getting enough fiber will help your GI, along with other benefits. Detoxing, so to say, will not help flatten your mid-section. Cardio, and a clean diet will.

I never expected it to make a big difference in my appearance but more so in the way I feel overall intestinally.

thx for the advice on the metamucil I hadn't thought of that....I'll give it a shot

So then, the only type of advice you want is advice that you agree with? Why bother posting here asking for help?

i have tried a cleansing from GNC and it works great!! what in it is all natural stuff in it like burdock root, cranberry fruit and whole bunch of other natural stuff..

also i would suggest taking some sort of fiber produce like fiber sure its a safe and fast way to get ur daily fiber intake..

can i ask u a question?? when u fart how is ur fart cause before i startered taking in more fiber as well as the cleansing pills my farts where almost blocked by stuff in my colon. it was like a pipe thats got gunk in it and not as much air can pass threw as easy so it slows the air down so i use to fat for less than a sec. .now when i fart i can do one of those long farts that start from my the top of my belly as i feel all the air passing through my colon and i can do a long fart that lasts almost 5 sec!!

years and years of backed up stuff like Mickey D's (i can't eat that stuff no more) cause my colin is so clean and i also eat clean so if i try and eat Mcdonalds i get really sick or i have problems digesting it. that stuff has alot of trans in it anyways..when ur colon is backed up it releases toxins in ur system that make u feel sluggish, bloated belly pains and the list goes on bro

when i first started with the pills my bowels came out black and i used the bathroom alot the first week..felt so much better the 2 week...my bowel movements are 3 times a day now and they smell way different then they did before (like i can smell what i ate more times)..its way more clean as i eat better now too..i take the cleansing pills once every4 months to clean up what the fiber didn't get...its not as much now as it was before

what i can really say about cleansing pills is that some work some are no good.. i know for a fact that the GNC brand works great all natural stuff
its called Cleansing formula 120 capsules in a blue bottle sells for 19.99 works great but u gotta take in fiber as well cause it removes junk from ur colon and it might just sit there if no fiber is there to flush it out..thats the walls of ur colon.
