im clueless about abs. help??

im pretty new to training. im in it for muscle and weight gain. my eating seems to have given me some love handles.i have neglected my abs (though i knew i shouldnt have, but wasnt sure how to work them besides situps.) i was hoping someone could help me develope an ab routine that i can do anytime/anywhere ,and also ,will that make the abs look better and stronger? or will they just be stronger covered in fat?

Want great abs - first, good luck, very hard to get six pack, but here's the basic plan - Diet #1. Then you do deadlifts, squats, lunges, plancks, pushups, any exercise that works core. You can add crunches bicycles, leg raises, etcc., for secondary effect and help. Just a crunch routine will do little to help.
