Could I replace 6 egg whites with a scoop of whey?
Hey guys, my morning meal ( more like a shake ) consists of
1cup of oats
1 cup of milk
6 egg whites
1 whole egg
1 banana
6 egg whites = 99 cal 21 protein
1 scoop of whey 110 cal 20 protein
Just wondering if it would be okay to add whey instead of eggs, or does the protein that come from eggs make a big difference compared to powder?
Thanks

I would personally keep the egg whites, but the whey is fine if you want.
The protein that comes from egg whites is slightly better, but it's not a HUGE difference.

sure its fine, but you are making more of a quick absorbing shake, where eggs will last 4-5 hours...whey will be digested in 1h30m

Both are complete protein sources. Pick whichever you prefer and roll with it.

You could do this. But don't.
Because 1) you are already getting some whey from the cup of milk you're drinking, and you might as well spread out your protein digestion timeframe.
2) while the stats for the eggwhites and whey are about the same, you would be cutting your 1 whole egg probably as well, which would be sacrificing that additional 7 g of protein and 7 g healthy fats.
Or do both. 50 grams of protein for breakfast is fine.

even with all the other food items mixed with it? even if you add PB to that shake? all those foods should slow the rate of digestion right?

Um... I'm pretty sure that breakfast calorie and macro breakdown is wrong.
There's no way that breakfast is 1100 calories, not even if you're drinking a cup of heavy cream. I would guess about 90-100 grams of carbs, 54 grams protein (given the 10 in the oats), even if you're fat amount is right and you are getting 20 grams of fat from the milk, you're still topping out at approx 800, not 1100

What the... why does it have a cup of oats listed as 607 calories? A cup of raw oats has 300 calories. Unless you're eating the fine ground scottish cut oats, which obviously you can pack more of into a cup... but I am really doubting that. Look at the stats on your oatmeal container.
If your oats container says this then I apologize for the error, but I want to know what kind of oats you're eating.
