Terracotta's Journal (2008 Edition)
I've been lifting weights regularly since around 2005 when I started my home gym setup. I started at 120 lbs and about 5 lbs overweight, and gained by my estimate about 8 lbs of muscle since then.
My goal has always been to look better and be healthier. I have no intent to compete in bodybuilding. I've also greatly enjoyed helping others and started a website for beginners ( www.hotnfit.com ).
Currently I am done trying to lose fat, and will be just eating a healthy and balanced diet. I am no longer taking supplements (just finishing CL log) other than fish oils, vitamins and protein powder as I am going to start TTCing soon (that's trying to conceive for people not familiar..).
I want to still keep a log because it makes me more consistent then I will be otherwise (those who followed along with my other logs will know I have a problem with lack of consistency).
I will be listing workouts, and probably diet ( maybe not on all days). For now I am not counting calories, but if I start overeating and gaining I will to get things under control.
I am doing a three way split as follows:
Code:
Day 1, 8
Front Squats 3x8
Deadlifts 4x6
DB Shoulder Press 3x8
Lateral Raises 3x8-12
DB Bicep Curls 3x8
ABS
Day 3
Pendlay Row 4x6
Bench Press 4x6
One Arm Row 3x8
Incline DB Press 3x8
Lying Tricep Extension 3x8
ABS
Day 5
Back Squat 4x6
RDLs 3x8
Bulgarian Squats 3x8
Walking Lunges 3x8
ABS
Although I don't follow those parameters exactly, it will give you a good idea.
My previous (non-sponsored) logs are as follows:
Terra's Leaning out journal
Terracotta's Journal

June 16th Workout
Squats 65# 5 75# 5,5,5,5 (up to sets of 6 next time)
RDLs 80# 8,8,8 (up 5 lbs next time)
Comments
This was the same weight on squats as I did last time, but the reps were much better (last time I was a bit wobbly on it), so I'm happy with it. Legs were pretty fried after just the two exercises, so I stopped there.
Thanks everyone for subscribing

Ok, so I was nervous to not count calories today. I just started my period today and as usual I was starving, cranky and had a huge headache for most of the day.
Fat seems to be a bit high. I guess it would have been better without the peanut butter just now. Would have fixed the calories too. I guess it's not bad considering my crappy mood today.
April - thanks
Abrams - hey!

WTG on the increase in reps with the squats!!!
I think your nutrition looks great, especially considering PMS AND a bad mood...whew...that is a disaster waiting to happen!

I think your diet looked great considering the PMS! It takes all my willpower to stay away from the chocolate..... Peanut butter seems like a great compromise for the cravings!

Forgot to explain - the stuff in brackets after each exercise is my goal for next time.
Yes, it wasn't that bad.

Thanks! Well the bit of hot chocolate (6 oz) and the rice cakes helped.

Peanut butter is so good. Today is a little blah but not as bad as yesterday, the headaches are gone.

They are caramel coated rice cakes with a few little chocolate chips on one side. 60 calories instead of 35-40 but very good.

Bicep Curls 20# 5,5,5 [next time more reps]
Comments
Great workout today. I really don't feel like starting the workouts since dropping the caffeine down. I am fine doing them once I start however, I just have to give myself that nudge at the start.
My diet has been decent. I didn't feel out of control with eating at all today.
Here's a recipe that's almost identical to the one I use for the lentil rice patties - http://fooddownunder.com/cgi-bin/recipe.cgi?r=150132
If you want it a bit more flavorful, add a boullion cube to the water at the start. They are very good. I recommend mashing the garbanzo beans (chick peas) up before adding them to the rest of the mixture, it turns out better. I eat them plain not on buns or anything and I did not add nuts (though it would have been good).
Amj - I eat tilapia and salmon. Sometimes I will get snapper, but the tilapia is cheaper, so I usually stick with that.
