Denial. That's what works for me.

...and I TOTALLY screwed my diet eating a 5 lbs lobster to celebrate!
Thankfully, it only comes once a year...

Happy Birthday. The first step towards dealing with the age of 36 is to find a group of older timers to be around so you can feel younger. Posting in this group is a good start.

I just turned 37 yesterday.
Went to the gym last night had a killer leg day and treated myself to a extra 2 oz of chicken for dinner (I know pretty wild and crazy)
Seriously, I feel better at 37 then I did at 27. I am lifting more than I did at 21, and things (yes all things ) are working better then 18.

Welcome wantmoresize.
About thinking of being 40...
Just don't think. It sort of works for me.

One of the great things about growing older - you don't have to do anything! It just happens with no effort on your part whatsoever! Isn't that great??
No, I guess it's not really. But what the hell - it IS free, unlike most things these days!

it's an uphill fight from now on for us bud!!!! as long as we keep lifting and lifting right, it's good, but at this age, if we fall off the bandwagon, the outcome is disastrous.... we just may have to start acting and looking our age, and that is just unthinkable!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday !
That raises the question that I never thought of before. When can you officially be an O35'er. Is it on your 35th or 36th birthday. I always thought 35 was sufficient, but technically it is the OVER 35

So i trained back today along with some abs and cardio - my parents and sister are having a BBQ for me tonight so I think I should be able to eat clean (some burgers and baked beans) - however - I know they are going to sneak an ice cream cake into the mix - wish me luck!!!

Welcome to being officially part of "over 35".
Advice: age is only one part of the equation; dedication, drive, discipline can trump age if you train and eat smart.
And I know this is said too many times, but I really am bigger and stronger now, at 51, than I was at 21 - or 31, or 41.

Did you really eat a 5 pound lobster? And how much does a 5 pound lobster cost in a restaurant?

you're still always going to be younger than I am.
