There are many predictions that the world will experience total destruction or a significant enlightment in the year 2012. From the Mayans, to scientific research, to biblical passages, there are refrences to the end of time throughout all societies. I personally don't believe the end of times will come in that year, but it makes you wonder.
What do you think about it all? Rubbish or a definite possibility?
Heres a video just for added effect:
i dont understand how they got it from biblical passages when it says in the bible that no man knows the day or the hour, not the angles in heaven or the son of man, only the father.

kind of off-topic but it goes with the whole religious aspect of this. Search "Zeitgeist religion" on youtube and watch the first video. I think it's bull**** but it proves all religions and beliefs to be based off of astronomy and how the sun works and all that. Really crazy stuff for any Christians or religious people. check it out and tell me what you think
i only watched part 1 so far but your right, as a christian that stuff does make me wonder about a few things.

supposedly theres like 12 crystal skulls around the world and 7 or 8 have been found and they have to be put in their spots (a circle or something) or else the world will end.

I just watched an interesting program on the history channel about codes throughout the Bible. Using ELS, they have supposbly found evidence from past horrific events in the bible such as 9/11, etc.. I personally don't know what to believe about it.
Heh, two my friends will be turning 20 that day. Sucks for them.
But I don't believe it anyway. Like other people said, most likely the secret to how the Mayan Calendar was calculated probably died out before anything else could be added to it, or something along those lines. Although, when I looked up events scheduled for 2012, I found some things that would make a good set up for some climatical end of the world. It'd work well in a book, methinks, but not in reality.
I don't really believe in religion (not atheist, I just don't need religion, so I ignore it. I couldn't care less whether god exists or not), but if you ask me, everything about the world ending in 2012 is bs if it comes from the bible. After all, there's a whole load of crap that's supposed to happen before the end of this "age" according to the Christianity (End-Times/Armageddon, look it up), and there's no way in hell that's all gonna happen in the next 3 and a half years.

Olympic Lifters? Well we just f*ck everyone else up.
sorry there have been several doomsday predictions that turned out false. and the mayan calendar doesnt end on 2012, it repeats the same way we repeat weeks and months. theres no scientific data to prove the world will end on 2012. people are just too fixated on media to think for themselves.
