Hi again
I am trying to add at least 15lbs within the next year.
But anyway I won?t play the mass game and want to keep my lines and symmetry.
If that means I will never be successful, so be it.
I?m looking forward to the current development of the IFBB and
my main concern is about improoving by high quality muscles and most of all balance out my weak muscle parts.
Right now I am supervised by Francisco Guerrero and as far as I am staying in Germany, I am training in his gym the "xxl-bodytown" ( www.xxl-bodytown.de )
I am still quite young. So I am obvious to gain some muslces very quickly...
Although you may never predict any muscle growth for sure, I?m trying to become competitive as soon as possible.
As it seems the IFBB is now looking more for aesthetics again, which might possibly speed up my career.
I will do my very best and just try to follow my dream.
It?s an awesome feeling, having become a member of IFBB family in such a short time after my first step on a BB-stage.
all the best !
Dan

Glad you aren't playing the mass game, that is hard to win with some of the monsters out there. Good luck.

That's a pretty awesome starter resume. I'm sure leadership by example will go a long way to making changes in how things are being ran. You know you've got something to worry about when you get guys who's waist is almost as wide as their chest and just look like a giant barrel. Keep it up, and yeah it'd be nice to hear your climb to success.

I competed in Munich (Germering) once at the German Nationals 2004 .
I prefer front squats but I don?t like legtraining more or less than any other bodypart
Currently we are filming my first DVD which is about my way to the IFBB Jr. World Championship overall title, obtaining my pro licence and my first offseasosn as a professional.
In the near future there will be some impressions shown on the internet.
It should be published in the beginning of 2009.

What kept you motivated?
How did you feel in the start when you couldn't do reps with the weight you were trying to lift? Did the progress come slowly or quickly?
What is your advice for people with horrible genetics?

To have a dream and an ultimate goal in your mind should be the best motivation.
I have always this image of the perfect physique in front of my eyes.
Until I don?t reach this point, I keep working on my aim.
I think my progress came rather quick.
At the beginning I changed my bodyweight within a short period of time and added almost 100lbs in one year...
I suppose this heavy Offseason was really helpful for my progress, even if most of the added mass was not quality of course.
The best genetics can not be a substitute for "Force of Will".
As long as you are willing to work hard, you can achieve almost everything.
As soon as it comes to Pro levels, gentics make the difference between winners or loosers, but as an amatuer you can reach every title just because of trying hard enough in my opinion
So far I had no serious injuries and I try to train very clean and just cheat in my offseasontraining from time to time.
I only competed at Germering/Munich...
I usually train in Frankfurt at XXL Bodytown FFM and trained consistently at "Fitness Maldener" in Dortmund, which is the "HOME of Dennis Wolf" last year

Hi Jimmy,
even if its more easy for myself to answer in German language, I guess we should speak in English on this board.
I wish you all the best for your upcoming competition...
Try to find a trainer in your closer area, as it is simply not possible to prepare someone via Internet in my eyes.
Doing a preparation for a show on your own might work, but a supervisor/coach can take all of your doubts away.
Being successful in bodybuilding is mostly based on your mental power.
As soon as you loose it, you loose your focus, shape or even winning-mentality.
Competing for the first time your biggest goal should be to get some experience.
You will learn the most about you body while preparing for shows.
Just keep improoving your weakpoints and come back again, even if the first show is not as successful as you hope for.
Just be at your best possible shape and you can always be content with yourself.

Currently I am the youngest Pro.
It is out of question that I am much smaller than usual Pros right now, but looking at my age, I got enough time to build up a competitive mass.
Right now I?m in my offseason and trying to add the needed pounds for giving my Pro debut.
Just wait and see how it looks like on stage when competing first time.
I already achieved winning my Pro Card very young, which had been a huge step for my Bodybuilding career.
Even if I would need 5 years from now to my first show, I would still be one of the youngest athletes on stage for sure.
But I?m obvious to give my debut either in Fall 2009 or Spring 2010.
Here are some pictures of Loaded Cup guestposing and seminar and furthermore some pictures of an offseason shooting in Finland by Mike Siren last week ( http://www.pakkotoisto.com/ )

Thank you AP1
I?m really looking forward now to gain some quality mass and train as heavy as possible.
After such a long time of dieting I will now focus on adding at least 15lbs of quality muscle until my debut at the Pros.
I started weightlifting for fun at 14.
But I began serious Bodybuilding, training for competitions at 16.
Having had my first contest at 18 and just after 4 successful years as an IFBB Junior, I received my PRO Card, which is something I never dreamed to achieve this early in life.
Another pic taken just some days ago.

Thanks, do you have any pictures of you when you were a teen and just starting to lift? I just turned 14 and want to start to seriously lift. Also, would you recommend a person like me do a basic program with major compound lifts such as rippletoes, or do a BB split?

Thanks man. Do you naturally have amazing lats shoulders and legs, or do you work a lot harder on them? Your a real motivation to me. Being so young and a professional BB'er has really inspired me. Thank you, and good luck in your future!

I guess the biggest gains I had last year.
Eating a whole offseason just clean foods and even in offseason just rice, chicken or fish and as many vegetables I wanted.
2006->2007 I gained almost 8kg of quality mass. So it was definitly what works for my body.
I?ll continue doing this during my offseason this year too.
I think there is no real need to eat junk food for gaining mass.
I did that in the past, but the result was mainly that I felt really lazy and couldn?t even sleep well anymore.
I train my shoulders, back and legs just as heavy as every other body part.
Actually I?m now focusing more on biceps, upper chest and calves.
But I think the reason for my stronger body parts is just genetics

Thankyou
I guess most BB`s started with such an heavy offseason.
Nobody considered me of living BB-lifestyle this time, but it was worth to do it.
It was much more stressfree to concentrate only on a good workout (besides school). But on a certain level you shouldn?t get that fat anymore.
Though it was an experience and I had some really good gains that year.

Hi Dan.
Charles Poliquin states that the ideal TUL(Time Under Load) for each set of an exercise should last between 40-70 seconds for hypertrophy in muscles. Do you agee and what is your average TUL per set.
Thanks

So far I never blacked out while training nor puked.
I guess the problem ist mostly that many people eat a huge meal too close to the training.
The only workout i really feel sick sometimes is legs. From time to time back also, but it's not really common.
Basicly I try to follow the principle "stimulate not annihilate"
I guess 40-50 seconds sounds also quite suitable for me.
I usually train at 6-8 really heavy, but slow and clean movement.
So 45 seconds should be average for me.
I personally think it also depends on the different kinds of musclefibers you have...
Some people got more "red" muscles than others and some people got more "white" ones...
Depending on which type you are, you also have to adjust your training techniques.
