Royally F***** up my first year of college...Need Advice.
Is there any hope for me? Anybody else **** up like me and recover???
Math 100: D
Firefighting 300: D
English 300: C
Health 300: C
English 302: F (teacher messed up my grade should have gotten a C going to talk to the dean)
Geography 300: Withdrawl
Sociology 300: Withdrawl
The question is, should I transfer to another junior college and pretend I never went to college? Or will they find out anyway? I really dont want to have to start all over since I passed english classes and health...but then again I really dont want D's on my transcript either.

talk to the teacher not the dean. dean cant do ****. grade given is what u get. i suggest u repeat those courses if u want to go to graduate school. Law school is already not an option for you as they dont count repeat grades even if its better.

It is hard. You have much freedom. I had to learn the hard way. I lost over a years worth of credits, from partying to hard. Stay focused and try to keep the partying to the weekends.

what happens when you repeat a course? do they average out the two grades or give you latter or better grade.

youre best off talking to a counsellor to see what options are out there for the "starting over" part, but i dont think you should be able to get your record expunged like that.
the good news is is that its only 1 year. just think about how many people messed up a year of college, ESPECIALLY their first. it happens all the time. i guarantee if you get your act together and pull down good grades in your later years then that first year wont look nealy as bad as it does now.
the other side however, is to figure out why you messed up and fix THAT problem. your problem isnt bad grades, it's bad study habits and lack of discipline. straighten these out and other problems that prevent you from succeeding in school.
you messed up your first year, but keep in mind its only 1 year and nobody is going to judge another person by 1 bad year of college grades.

ah it was a combination of many things. Lazy and lack of interest in school since I was in a JC while all my friends where at 4 years. I'm not a dumb person either which is kind of irritating.

well, it seems to me that if you have a chance to start fresh at a new jc, then it's worth the money wasted to get better grades and a better mindset

If you transfer to another college and don't give them your transcript and just say you've never been, then yes, you'll be straight and they won't find out.
That's what I would do man bc those grades are just not acceptable bro

the main thing for me was building good habits. if you can write down everything you need to do for classes as they come up and stick to doing them for a few weeks it becomes easier to keep up. you go to class more means less studying at home... some classes you wont even need to study/cram if you go to all the class sessions. i usually still slack off at the end of a semester to be honest but if you hold the habits for the first 75% it gives you some cushion towards the end

What I would do if I were in your position.
A) Retake all of those classes and get A's or B's. That way you could even have a story to tell for apps/interviews. You were screwing around in life, didn't take it serious, you had an epiphany and you decided to take life seriously and you did.
B) Study business and become an entrepreneur and say **** you college.

x2
go to class. something about just being there at the lecture means that the material wont be completely new to you when you're studying for a test

You're in college for a reason.Partying and enjoying the youngsters life not one.
The key here is to let go of the past and move on.
Repeat the fail courses. Do better.
Don't enjoy too much. Crack open the book , write down notes. Study consistently. Read up all the materials you will/might be tested on.
No easy way out.
It's not the end of the world. Learn to let go.
Lift hard, get vascular, get big and don't forget to study too.

Damn I thought my grades were bad, sorry brah. Also they will find out that you attended college because it will come up in financial aid, atleast I think it would. Those classes with D's and F's won't transfer so I would just retake the classes that you got a D or F in and hope for the best. Good luck.

Retake your classes, without question. I don't know how valid the comment about law school is btw. Why would they only take your initial grades? I can't see that being completely true, or at least not everywhere.
Bottom line, everyone has a rough go during freshman year. Fortunately what's rough for some isn't so bad (and may even be good) for others. Many places are willing to discount your first year averages as it is a transition period. Just like in high school when the sole weight was on your Sophomore/Junior year grades.
