Machilik talking a load?
Steve Machilik says he won the universe natural, and only turned to steroids when the competition got fierce, as did Arnold. Now everyone knows Arnold was on steroids with his first trainer Marnul in Austria at a much earlier age.
If you see Valentinos documentary the man whos arms expolded it says it all there, well i reckon Machilik is talking a load of B.S. and doing the religious training thing with his disciples "no juice no juice - i was a idiot, save yourselves and your soul" pah, that documentary was rubbish it was all anti steroid and not one mention of implants or synthol oil.

Also remember Machilik was mentaly insane.... take what he has to say with a grain of salt. Doing all oral cycles isn't the safest way to go about AAS use.

Michalik was pure fvked in the head. Apparently he tried to drown Johnny Defendis in order to help him get in touch with himself or some ****. Errrr...

Read the stuff in "Intensity or Insanity" on Animal Pak.com, its about Defendis and Michalek training.
The guys were absolutely stone-cold crazy if their workouts were actually what Johnny says they were. ITs a million miles in the realm of what most would call overtraining..but the fellows grew, and grew good.
I wouldn't mind a Michelek kind of mentor. I consider Layne Norton my mentor as im paying him for online consultation and have trained for a very short bit as well.
Hes pretty crazy with himself in the gym, and he didnt have to push me because im pretty crazy too, but i wish he was as crazy as Steve , hell on earth and whatnot. But Laynes awesome as he is, props coach!

You're right though, we all know how to train and stuff, but how much better would things be if we had a whack job like Johny or Steve in our corner. It seems like people are affraid to grunt in the gym, affraid to drop weights, affraid to use some aggression, ****, most of them look like they're affraid to even break a sweat. I'd love to have a couple old school nut bars like them, or even the Paul brothers training in my gym just to get that intensity back, I'm tired of doing it on my own, you feel so isolated when you look around and see that no one wants to train hard and heavy anymore.

Well this goes back to the grunting in the gym argument. Everyone hates people who grunt in the gym (not me) and they bitch about it because they think they are trying to be hard or something. It's not about being hard. Hearing someone train like that gets me pretty pumped up and i haven't trained hard like that with people screaming everywhere since i was on the highschool football team =( . Those were the days but thats changed and you have to find ways to keep yourself motivated. Even though im not screaming i try to come out of the gym looking like i just showered with my clothes on.

Word. There's nothing wrong with the grunt of a 405 incline...or a 225 pound lunge, but the 15 pound preacher curls, yeah... not so much.

I could care less whether it be 400 pounds or 15 pounds, atleast you know they are pushing themself and thats all that matters. There was a guy who used to come into the gym a few months back who was a skinny stick but man he worked his butt off pushing himself to the limit and so on. He would have 95 lbs on the bench but you could tell he was really working it and it was motivating for me to watch him push himself past his limits.

Refreshing to hear something like that. So many people on here get hung up on pushing huge amounts of weight, and bash those that can't. It's like everyone forgets that you have to start somewhere. I completely agree with this.

I haven' forgotten that. I was skinny as they come when I started, but I never treid to put on a big guy act. If you're genuinely grunting, true, the weight doesn't matter as long as the intensity is there, but then there are the guys who aren't lifting hard, but just want to get attention ya know.

Yes, this is the kind of thing i was talking about in the gym where i am, there is some old school nutballs there but making a kind of religion about bbing is one step in the wrong direction, i will keep taking Dorians advice and Mike Mentzers advice and continue to grow - screw the religious soul searching and other spiritual stuff. Michalik thinks we were all born yesterday and blames steroids for driving him to a mental institution. He must think it will do something for his personal training business and i dont know what really drove him round the twist in the first place - i do know it was not steroid use though, he must think steroids are not used by any other athlete except bodybuilders.
This is interesting i would like to know what Arnold would have to say, possibly sue Michalik for saying steroids will drive you to cancer and insanity. Thats not a nice thing to hear when you have already had a cycle.
All in all Michalik is a joke and full of B.S. cancer my arse, tell it to Dorian.

That whole Gregg Valentino documentary was a joke. Why didn't they interview any athletes who use steroids and never have a problem? Even when Mick Hart admitted that his previous unhealthy lifestyle was what caused his heart attack, the reportes still blamed it on steroids.
Who's to say that Steve Michalik would not have had a heart problem and liver cancer and a stroke and gone mad if he had never taken anything but eggwhites? All that he said in the show was shocking overstatement bassed on no actual evidence whatsoever.
...as for Gregg Valentino... what a c**t! Why are people wasting time making films about him? He is everything that makes people think bodybuilding is bad. Surely someone could make an intelligent documentary about bodybuilding which addresses the issue of drug use from an un-biassed point of view and talks to people who actually understand what we are trying to acheive.
Non-bodybuilders need to be educated and not scared to try our sport because of misguided sensationalistic reporting which only tells half truths.
rant over!

It's funny about the Michalik steroid thing, I thought he looked like crap no matter what he took. His insanity and roid training really didn't do a bloody thing for him compared to any other pro so his genetics must truly suck.

That state of mind shouldn't be active when you are on a bodybuilding site... that's like saying to yourself "don't think about porn" when your in a football locker room shower.

I dont know if any of you know this, but I was reading a website documenting his drug usage and it states he was using upto 14 drugs at one time for about 3 years straight and enhancing his workouts with speed! No wonder they guy had a heart attack and found himself depressed and drove himself to crazyness. ****...big difference between this and 12 weeks of test with a little ECA to get you going before a workout lol.
Point is, he used, then abused and paid the price for hammering his body. You dont have to be an expert to realise that taking recreational drugs with steroids isnt wise and taking a boat load of anabolics for 3 years straight is going to give you problems! From his approach to drug use, he was obviously a man of extremes and a bit of a crackpot to begin with, now hes left with a bitter taste in his mouth and uses religion to argue his point like many people like to do.
Just my opinion, love it or hate it, it had to be said.
