Ladies and Gentlemen,
Long time no talk! How is everyone doing? Good to see this thread going for so long...quick update...I am now a member of The Conquerors International Strength Team... and looking to go into it full time, just waiting for God to provide the finances for it. This year has been crazy..We have over 25,000 salvations and we able to distribute over 78,000 copies of the Book of Hope!! PLUS, we just got signed to do the Chicago Bulls half time shows and were asked to tour with SHoutfest this year with Disciple, Group 1 Crew, Jeremy Camp, Pillar, Building429 and a few more. God is movin so strong and blowin doors open for us. I attached a few pic's of one of our recent events so you can check it out. I am the one with the dew rag on.

Depression and Supplements.
Just wanted to share this with my Christian brothers on here.
For several years, I've been going through bouts of pretty bad depression. I went to counseling and they couldn't really determine what was going on. Over the last 3 weeks, I haven't had an episode at all. The two things that changed:
I started working out again after a month break because of an injury.
I started taking some herbal supplements that are supposed to promote healthy testosterone levels. I take the following twice daily:
2x NOW Testojack 100
1x Goliath Labs Tribuloid
1x Goliath Labs Ejaculoid (I'm not taking this for the reason they advertise it for ).
I've decided that my problem was caused by a hormonal imbalance. I hate having to take 8 pills every day but if the result is that I don't go through these bouts of depression, then it's worth it.
Praise God I've found something that seems to be helping.
Lil'Joe

Best form of meditation for me is praying the "Holy Rosary" daily...
Getting stronger Mentally, Physically and most importantly Spiritually!
Thanks Be to God...

Ah I see. That's cool. Can I ask what you do?
I guess this question goes to anyone, if anyone knows some good mood support supplements that work I'd be willing to research them and give em a try. Currently I am on a few anti-depressants, mood stabilizers and anxiety meds. I would like to not rely on them so much. To be honest, I'm not even sure if they're okay or if there's something wrong in putting them in my body.

Tell me this is worth it.
I'm so discouraged today. I've been overweight most of my life and I'm just worried that no matter how hard I work, I'm not going to look good. I look in the mirror and I just can't deal with staying that way I am but it seems like being what I want to be is impossible.
I need some help.

Your stronger than Satan.
[QUOTE=liljoesiu;164867921]
Liljoesiu, remember your Philippians versus: "I can do everything through him who gives me strength".
Telling yourself your not going to look good in the future isn't going to knock off that next pound. Next time you look in the mirror, don't see a potential weakness, see your Lord's Temple standing there.
Everyday you wake up and decide to get in shape can make you a better person. You have already shown that with your 41 lbs of weight lost. Congratulations and pray the Lord for your strength......now get out there and finish your goal and don't let Satan feed you anymore lies....your stronger than he!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, I really needed some encouraging words. I keep telling myself that I've come a long way. I'm under 250lbs for the first time since high school probably, so that's something to be proud of. My goal is to get down to 195-210 range with low body fat percentage. That's not big by any means but right now I'm not looking for big, I'm looking for athletic and ripped. I'll think about bulking after that.

Great to know there are so many Christians out there.
I'm a born again Christian who started lifting 2 years ago to get into better shape and stay healthy. Moving to Greenville, SC in July. Anyone from that area that can recommend a gym there? I'm also going down for a long weekend the beginning of June and would like to check some out while I'm there.
I have been through a lot of personal trials over the last couple of years, but God's grace has gotten me through it all.
Remember, the Lord will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Keep the faith!

Kind of a late reply to your posting but, I just found this string. If you are hitting the gym, and working cardio, your results may be o.k. for your efforts based on what you do while at the gym. Have you had a bodyfat reading?
I don't know you so I don't want to sound critical but I see a lot of people who go to the gym regularly who just wander around and do a few exercises here and there that they probably saw someone else doing and they too wonder why their results haven't been what they expected. Worse yet, is that they have no plans and don't keep any record of what they've done.
If you are one of these people, get a couple of good books on exercise routines and a notebook (in the notebook be sure to record dates, machines, weights, sets, reps, machine settings such as seat, and any other note that you have such as how you felt and what order that exercise was done in. Pretty much anything by Weider or Men's Health (Rodale Press) is good but, read the author bios and find people who have worked with professional sports teams vs. working with the movie stars. Sports teams and professional athletes have a vested interest in themselves to stay fit and they hire the best for long periods whereas a movie star just needs to look good for a few parts here and there and hires the latest guru.
Also, I'd pick up a good book on nutrition for fitness. My favorites are by Susan Kleiner, PhD and RD. Avoid diet books, crash dieting, etc., in favor of a good nutrition plan based on your goals and workout plans.
Third, find a good gym buddy. I'm having a hard time with this one myself but, if you can find someone who is committed to their health and will push you for that extra minute or that extra repitition, grab them!
Fourth, make sure that your friends and family are clearly onboard with your goals. They may not support them but they need to support you as long as you aren't doing something unhealthy.
Well, good luck.

I have a buddy that just moved there a few days ago who is into bodybuilding. I'll see if I can find out anything from him as soon as he finds a good place.
