Uni-liver question for Universal rep
When I first started taking uni-liver, I asked the universal people whether the pills should be chewed or broken up, and they said no, just swallow them whole. After reading the following article
http://www.davedraper.com/fusionbb/s....php?tid/4594/
I am starting to second guess swallowing them whole. Does universal have any studies showing how the pills actually are absorbed? I realize the article refers to a not very scientific test of different liver pill's absorption, but it still is alarming to see that the uni-liver tabs didn't break down at all. Now I am confused on how I should be taking these. I have heard that if they are broken up, they are ruined in the stomach, so I am at a loss here.
Any help would be appreciated.

Interesting article, although like the author stated, not very scientific. I started taking Uni-Liver about 2 weeks ago @ 6 pills a day. I couldnt imagine chewing those stinky motherf'rs up

Right ^^^^. You don't need a study to prove that.
The tablets break down fine.

I've used them for years, without any "problems". Though I don't know if a "study" exists, what I do know is that Corporate does do dissolution tests and if memory serves, they do follow guidelines. USP I think...

Little off-topic but I've been using Uni-liver for months now but I am wondering what grade of liver do you use? Only reason I ask is Beverly International's Ultra-40's are 2x as expensive as Uni-liver. Just curious if there is a quality difference or something.

I'd still like a Universal Rep to chime in and give me an answer. I sent them an email directly a few days ago with no response. This is a cut and paste off the article that made me ask it's off the Beverly International website.
I was developing our desiccated liver tablets. I knew the quality liver came from Argentina because there were certifications that there weren't steroids or growth hormones used on the cattle and there weren't any insecticides or chemical fertilizers used on the grass. I called a supplier in New Jersey and told him what I was looking for. He laughed and asked, "Well, what grade do you want?"
I asked, "How many grades are there?"
He said, "Five."
I asked, "What's grade one?"
He said, "Well that's the highest grade. That's the pure stuff."
So I asked, "What is grade five?
He said, "It's got a little bit of liver in it? but you can pass it off on the label."

i'm not a rep, but have you looked at the label of Uni-liver? it's got 18 amino acids and more per serving than any other amino product on this site and that's only in 2 tablets. there's no way this is the weak stuff.

Ya I suppose, but I would still like some kind of reply from Universal, seems like they should be able to give me an answer. I love Universal products, just curious on this. And the longer I don't receive an answer makes me wonder even more.

Honestly, I don't know. I don't know what the grading system is for liver powder, or even if there is one for that matter. Pricing often has little to do with quality, as you probably know. I do know that Universal's liver powder is from Argentina and I do know it's certified BSE-free.
Keep in mind that Universal is a large manufacturer--not just of their own products, but as a "private labeler" as well. This means making products for other companies. Between these two, Universal buys a whole lot of raw materials, bringing prices down--obviously.
Anyway, I don't know if this helps, but I will speak on behalf of Universal's quality any day.

Sorry bro it took so long. I used to have a computer strapped to my back, but I hurt my back and now have to use a regular "desktop" model, like the rest of you poor saps, hahahahaha...
Seriously, I hope I gave you some insights bro.

That grading scale does make me curious as well.I swallow anywhere from 30 to 40 of these things a day so obviously I want the quality to be top notch.I will go through the three 500 count bottles I have now and after may give beverlys a try to see if I notice any difference.I have however used and currently use several Universal products with great success. There creatine mono was the first mono I have ever had substantial gains with.I guess that was due to the fact it is german creapure.

I wondered about Beverly Int's liver tabs at first too but then I noticed that most of their products are priced quite a bit higher than comparable products that other brands make. It would be nice to have them come in a smaller tab though.
Don't forget, a liver tab comes in the animal pak too, which always makes me laugh when I hear somebody say he wouldn't waste a penny on liver tabs while he is downing a bag of animal pak.
I justed tested a liver tab myself to see how it would dissolve. I just set in plain old water and after about 40 minutes, it was broken down to the size of an aspirin tab. That was in plain water. That Draper article is a bunch of BS.
