What to do when....
What does one do when they're satisfied with where they are? What if someone has reached a level where they don't want to get buffer? (Like, so they don't want to look freakishly muscular)
If you stop working out, you'll slowly lose muscle, right? And you might begin to get fat too. What would someone do in this situation?

Well, You could like.. Cut your sets in half.. and Never increase weights.
Dont know what else to tell you, I never looked into how to NOT get bigger.. So I am just guessing here, but it shoulds like it would work.

If you love lifting like most of us, just keep it up but work on strength instead of size. Keep reps higher up and focus more on the eccentric motion of lifting. Also, you can go lax on the diet and still do as much lifting as you are and stay the same size. There is a limit to how big you can get without eating like a bodybuilder.

I don't think I can get to that point. But I'm getting to the point where my girlfriend doesn't like it. It's kinda depressing, a choice between sex and bodybuilding. Well, not much of a choice eh?

Can anyone honestly say that people who are shredded are attractive to the average girl? I have yet to meet a girl who thought Toney Freeman was good looking.
But for real, just because I'm telling her that I'm not gonna eventually compete really doesn't mean anything. I lift for myself, and a competition at the end of the summer is gonna be all about myself, the way it should be.

Well, it's not that they don't like buff guys, it's just that they don't want something like... Ronnie Coleman, that's all.

They don't like the skinny cute pretty boys. They say they do, but once you get them they'll love your muscles. Or you slap them in the face until they do.

yeah i would focus on strength too. im gonna aim for 170-80 by next march around 9% bf and squatting 2x my weight, benching 1.5x and dead 2.5
yeah that'd be nice and i wont get a ton bigger. i know what you're saying tho, you don't wanna look like a freak.

It does feel good to be walking outside shirtless and have cars swerve into the other lane when they look at you though. Hooray being jacked and goodlooking.
Bodybuilding just has a bad rep. I mean, I consider myself a bodybuilder, but when I ever tell anyone that I want to compete, people immediately think of guys like Ronnie. Ehh, it's what we deal with I guess.

Okay, back to the original topic: how do you work out when you sustain?
(and how do you eat? I think someone earlier said that there's a limit to how big you can get without eating like a bodybuilder)

x2 finally someone got it. a caloric excess is what makes you gain muscle, so if you eat maintenance and continue to weight train you will maintain the amount f muscle that you have.
