how to decrease my butt size?
I'm not sure if this is the appropriate section to ask this question, but I think I have a big butt for a guy. Is this genetics or just fat? Is there any way to make my butt smaller?
Thanks

Probably just fat. I store alot of fat in my butt too, but when I flex I get a delicious squat butt.

Bump. Same question. I feel like I store a lot of my fat in my butt, but I also have large glutes as it is. How can I make them more toned?
Weird question, yea, but we are bodybuilders... Do we not lift for asthetics?

It's not a weird question.
Lift heavy and lose the fat for nicer glutes.
Squats, deadlifts and variations thereof are your friend.

Fat is fat. It doesnt matter where you have it on you. It only comes off with diet and exercise. You cant spot reduce.

My bodyfat is quite low actually, as in easily visible abs and good tone. Yet, I still have big glutes. I'm not trying to increase my glute muscle size, so I was wondering if doing a high rep/high frequency lower body workout would help tone them up a little more and decrease their overall mass? As in, almost intentionally overtrain them.

Well I'm 19, so I think that eliminates those two options. It's not fat that I'm trying to lose; I'm trying to tone up and am wondering what kind of cardio/ lower body work is best for that

I know you can't spot reduce fat but what I can tell you from experience and having a small a$$, I wanted the opposite, I wanted it to get bigger... SQUATS to build and the stairmaster has tone me in this area... I do diet and workout regularly though so who knows!!! I just remember having nothing back there until I started these exercises back in the day of my beginning stage LOL!

You're right man, I'm mad girl yo. Like I've said, its not fat that's on my ass. I naturally have large glutes, and I'm just trying to fight genetics a little bit and tighten them up.

I lost 110lbs and stored a lot of it in my butt and thighs. I finally got rid of it by reducing my body weight 20lbs further than I thought I'd have to (I'd planned on losing down to 220 but had to get to 200 to get rid of the love handles and carrot top legs), started some light running and walking, and squats have helped a lot. I do regular ATG squats, along with some front squats, hack squats, and will be trying some bench squats soon just to keep leg day interesting. Also, still legged dead lifts are great for toning up the butt.
Pants size went from a 48 to a 33. I still buy relaxed fit pants because my thighs are still a little large, but at least now it's mostly muscle instead of fat.
Keep dieting and lifting...you will get there.
