Gta 4: Why Is PC Release Soooo Much Later Than Xbox, Wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this pisses me off. i hate having to wait like 6-7 months longer than everyone else. i fail to see why some companies deicide to not do a PC release or do a PC release wayyyyyyyyyyy after the console release.

they do it intentionally to get more sales for ps3, and 360 versions then when sales slow down on consoles they will release a PC version....

yep.
consoles are 90% directed at gaming. PC's are directed at everything from gaming to programming. and macs from very few games to animation.  (unless ofcourse you're using a virtual PC thingo).
gotta give the consoles a chance
but on that topic, don't make the mistake to buying an Xbox 360 in 2008. this is the year ps3 will shine.

yeah, i never bought any console past n64 and waiting for games has been annoying. i had a wait a long ass time for metal gear solid 2 and they never even came out with metal gear solid 3 for the pc. i had to wait for the ps2 emulator to come out.

I think somewhere along the line they need Microsoft's support to release it on the Windows platform. Microsoft wants to push 360's out the door since they're still fighting the console war, whereas Windows has 99.999% of the PC gaming market.

GTA IV is so popular for consoles because of its size and detail and freedom to do what you want. For PC that nothing new, there are games such as WoW...way bigger then GTA. CS:S>COD4 on PC.

Pisses me off too, man. I think it's due to Sony and Microsoft paying Rockstar for the exclusivity. All about the benjamins.
What pisses me off more than having to wait six months is having to wait for them to *announce* it as if it isn't going to come out on PC. Honestly there's like a 90% chance in my mind that it will be released for PC but why can't they just announce it now, damnit?

it is absolutely due to contracts and making money, xbox 360 is very similar to pc when it comes to programming, working between xbox 360 and pc would be a dream compared to ps3. These companies are rich for a reason but hey get an xbox mod it and play free games on live.

lots of people do dude, hell look online for torrents of GTA4 you'll see some people have already uploaded fake files and rips etc
a company that puts up a pc game will lose so much money from piracy alone its not even funny anymore
and if you think 4 gigs is a lot wait til you notice the rips and files that are 9gb-15gbs

It takes me 3 hours or so to download 4 gigs. Just put whatever I want in the queue and come back and I have everything from porn, music, to games, console games, nds games, etc..

What this man says is true. A big problem with developing for the PC is compatibility. All consoles are exactly the same. So when they develop a game for the xbox they don't need to test different types of drivers, systems, setups, etc...
Console games are usually dumbed down compared to games on the PC. Just in terms of complexity. So that makes it easier and faster to release a game. They just need to make it look really good, slap a good title on it, then get some advertising. People on the PC are a little more critical of the games that come out. So there is more money in the pockets of developers for consoles.
Most people don't know crap about getting a computer up and running, so buying games and getting them to run correctly is usually very hard for people. Sure there are huge amount of players on the PC, but the consoles allow the casual gamer to get into the gaming market.

Even with next gen consoles the PCs are gonna have better graphics and smooth frame rate?? just wonderig
And Fleshka you're not missing out anything on NBA Live, it sucks these days, I used to be a big fan to but the 2K series is a lot more realistic and not to mention cheaper

PC stength > 360 strength but... One the primary reasons is piracy. Companies lose a lot of $$ when games are pirated which is more accessible on PCs than consoles.
