I am starting this thread to keep track of my progress on my journey to becoming a healthy, fitter, and of coarse smaller man.
Over the years i have tried this and that but always found myself going down the wrong road again after great success. You see it's not only my addiction to foods that are no good but i am an emotional eater. I eat when i am happy, i eat when i am sad, i eat when i am depressed and i just eat if i saw food.
To help me get over this i have decided to do something drastic. I am going on a Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD). Well in fact i am just starting my 3rd week and i have had a huge loss in the first 2 weeks so far.
After opening a thread in the loosing fat section ( Weight Training on a very low Calorie Diet ) after reading through all the different posts and thinking about not wanting to loose to much muscle for a few days, one reply stuck in my head.
I know this is mpipes personal opinion but i believe he is right. If i keep track of it and just be carefull I might just see some great results. His body just might thrive and have no problems with recovery at all. The liquid diet he's taking might lack calories but could make up for it by being packed with nutrients. The body repairs itself and functions properly because of nutrients, not calories.
There is absolutely no way to predict what is going to happen. Yes, there is risk, but the only way for anyone to know is to try it, keep track of results, and modify as needed.
Life for me has had its ups and downs suffering from seasonal depression and i realize that most of it is caused by me and no one else. I need to be honest with myself as i am not happen being that over weight. So now is the time to change.
I lost just over 3 stone at the end of 2007 going fron 336Lbs to 285Lbs but after christmas is started to creep back on. I had put back on close to 20Lbs before i started the Lighter Life program.
This log is going to be a testimonial to my self that i am going to succeed. I began my weight loss on the 27th of August last year so thats the day i start my maintanence (Meaning i start eating for the rest of my life). I am going to stay on the lighter life program till the 15th of June which will be 2 months in total and i will do exercise at least 6 days a week.
After reading different journals and talk to a friend who is a fitness instructor i have decided to do a full body routine 3 times a week consisting of the following exercises.
Leg Press
Calf Raise
Leg Curl
Chest Press
Seated Row
Shoulder Press
Bicep Curl
Tricep Ext
Ab Curl
Back Ext
Over the last few weeks i have enjoyed the bike at the gym cycling 20km a time in 34.5mins while keeping my heart rate between 145 and 155. I am going to keep up the cycling but not put the pressure of keeping my heart rate this high because of the diet i am on.
