Former Army here. Got out a couple of years ago after combined 11 years of service, both as enlisted soldier and commissioned officer.
Although I no longer wear the uniform, I remain a citizen-soldier. I shoot competitively in both NRA service rifle (Master Classificaiton) and IDPA (Novice Class). We have to preserve that sacred document we all swore we would defend to the end - The United States Constitution.
For you guys and gals still serving, Thank You and God Bless.

So, from I can tell from the posts I could endure reading. He is simply a youthful racist. He probablly was trying to be the rebel growing up looking to stand out from the crowd and found a window to do just that with racism. Im not going to assume to know what he's been through or what his upbringing was, but I actually pitty him. There's alot of things in the world he's going to miss out on because of the decisions he's made. Unfortunetly you can't expect everyone in the world to have the same beliefs or values. Much less the same perspective. As always you cant have the saint without there being a sinner.

Alright guys. This is a real stupid question. What do you think of someone who gets discharged and joins a different branch? Thought I'd ask. Sounds like a bad idea.

I wouldn't call that a "bad idea" at all. Everyone has different interests and different goals. Sometimes, you just don't understand what's really out there until you're part of the military for a while.

I was discharged and I guess there is a cool down period before you can enlist again. Thought about switching branches. I don't know. I guess that will be my last resort, instead of my first impulse out of high school. I'm trying the college thing and it's not for me.

Not sure if I posted here or no seeing that I've landed on a few Marine threads. But former Marine of 8 years ( 92 - 00 ) with 3/9 and 3/4 and MACG-48. I was in the Motor-T field as a 3531 and a 3521.

in the Army and currently deployed to Iraq. Bodybuilding has always been my passion for as long as I remember and while everybody spends their free time watching movies and being miserable, I continue to improve my physique and learn as much as I possibly can...within the next year or two I plan to be ready to compete
