Isn't it used to hold you down for heavy lat pull-downs and leverage dips? The bench lays flat and swings forward and that pad swings up to pin your thighs.
That's my guess anyway, I don't own one.

Ok your 100% right I just got it and didnt realize there was a whole through the black part of it. So it WILL work for the lat pulldowns........good call thanks!

Have you guys noticed that the models Powetec uses for their machines are usually around 5' tall? It makes the equipment look sooooo big. Then us tall guys get on it and have no ROM.
