zone diet
I think I'm going to try this for a few days. It involves eating a 40% carbs to 30% protein ratio every meal to stabilize insulin. The last 30% is obviously fat. This includes after working out and before bed. This also restricts my protein to about 160g a day, so I should be eating closer to 2200 calories a day.

Sounds good, (maybe little low in carbs) but when trying an approach you should try it for a longer period than 'a couple of days'. Maybe a month or two so your metabolism can addapt

Why don't you just do a 40/40/20 split so you get more protein and less fat?

Because fat helps your hormones and stuff, according to this diet. Also, you need a precise carbs of protein to carbs to be "in the zone".

Day 1:
Instead of my usual breakfast of cereal, fruit, milk, and 1/2 scoop protein powder, I had a little bit of cereal(for the fiber), milk, and a whole scoop of protein powder(23g).
I got up at like 11:30, and it was raining, and I didn't have any caffeine, but I had a ****ty workout. I think it was mainly because I had only been awake for 1.5 hours. I never lift weights very well close to waking up. After I was done, I had a shake with less carbs and some peanut butter. Then I went to work at 3. I had two snacks when I got the chance, too much protein and not enough carbs, and I only got up to like 160g of carbs and 1500 calories when I got home at 9. For dinner I had a burger with grass-fed beef and some strawberries. I'm full right now and I only had 2000 calories today, way under my maintance for today(3300-3400 calories). I should probably have eaten more at work. I'll have a little more food before bed in the next couple of hours, but I doubt I'll be over 2300 at the most. I hope that all those calories are fat and that my muscles have enough energy to recover from lifting weights.

Does anyone know if fiber is counted in the carbs for each meal? Because if its not counted as a carb, I'm at like 34% protein/34% carbs for today, which iis probably not enough carbs.

Btw, its a lot easier to eat a lot less food when a lot of your carbs come from fruit like strawberries or grapefruit. I didn't have any vegetables today(although I normally do), but I had a lot of strawberries.

I've been feeling more tired since starting this, so I might not do it for much longer. I don't know if its from the diet, but it doesn't seem to have any positive effects so far. Plus, I just got that Natural Hormone Enhancement Book.

My short term goal is to get a six-pack, my long-term goal is to keep it while gaining muscle.

That's a myth. Fat is fine post workout, especially EFA's, and high GI carbs are NOT needed unless you were an idiot and had nothing pre-workout.

Yes it does. Any diet can work for bodybuilding provided it gives you enough nutrients and calories to support growth.

Exactly. This is why you can still get plenty of muscle growth whether on a 35% carb diet, or a 75% carb diet...

If you eat under maintenance yes. ANY diet can help you gain weight or lose weight. Calories are what matters, whether you do Pritkin, Atkins, Keto, Zone, Mediterranean, Paleo, etc, etc.
Personally, with my food choices, I find that I unintentionally hit about 40-30-30 each day, which is perfectly fine with me. I quit counting calories and macros, I just go by portion sizes, make sure I get pre/post workout nutrition, and let the rest fall how it may.
