Thanks. Damn that nair is a killer. Thanks for the education on shaving here because I will stay hairy before I ever use that nair crap again.

I understand the feeling embarrassed... I have pics up on my bodyspace that make me CRINGE.
Use those before pics as your motivation to stick to it.
You are seeing visible results and in time you will be amazed that you ever looked like your before pics.
Keep at it!

The more I see these photos the more sickening I get. I know I have came a long way. However, I am sick and tied of looking in the damn mirror at what I see. I keep telling myself over and over and over , "you made some big changes in 4 months, the next 4 will be better. THat only works til the next time I see myself in the mirror or a window glare. WHy wasn't I blessed with a good body.
I often sit and wonder what I will look like. Will I be just the average athletic type body, will I be the average built guy, or will I be the large built guy. One thing is sure I ain't going to be the fat guy, but damn I swear I have skiinny forearms, chicken legs, I've been working my arse off, and I got this belly flab with love handles. Good thing I'm married to a petite asian american chick , more southern than me, because my fat ass would be a loner. Oh well, I'll stop my whinning now, but I still ain't happy.

Thank you. It's funny. I grew up being a tough guy. Always fighting and just being a punk. Some where along the line the low self confidence came out. Maybe I always had it and that is the reason for my violent behavior as a teen. OH well, let the past be the past. I am more of a newer man today than i was yesterday and noting but good in the future. I'll just be glad when I can see just a smiggin of my abs coming through, LOL, just a smiggin.

Before and after--can you say "improvement?" Great job, and keep up the good work. Don't think about what you look like now; think about what you USED to look like in the past, and what you WILL look like in the near future. Eyes on the prize, sluge, eyes on the prize...

You're young, but a comp/comps sometime in your 40s will no doubt be impressive 'journeys'. It'll be tough but embrace that & anything else invoved in going for a comp. & you'll get it done!

Thank you GuyJin. I try not to think about what I look like now, but it's tough. I see myself in the mirror and I still see the guy in the before photo, that's what really sucks.

Thank you too IR45N. Yeah It'll be a tough journey, no road is always straight and narrow. That's my long term goal, but hope to step on stage before I'm 45. I just wish I had the extra cash to consult with a professional in bodybuilding and/or nutrition.

I missed this somehow. You've made great progress and in such a short amount of time. Focus on the improvements you have made, rather than what you don't like.

Greg,
I just want to say you look great, keep going, and keep taking pictures!
I'm new here, and I just started working out seriously last October. Have learned a lot along the way about what it even means to "work out seriously." Never had a trainer. Have lost about 15 lbs body fat, and need to lose a lot more. All those years of drinking beer and eating at restaurants covered up my muscles in fat.
So, I just took my "before" pictures an hour ago, and came on here looking for encouragement. Because it can be depressing to have been working out for months, only to take depressing "before" pictures. I don't know if taking pictures is as hard for guys as it is for ladies, but I came on here feeling pretty frustrated. But, if I had not lost the pictures I'd taken last October, I'd see the great improvement. As you have done.
Congratulations on your amazing progress. Your post was the encouragement I sought.

Ok. here are my currents. disregard the red chest, that is compliments of nair.

Wow....
You're making great progress.
Mix that progress in with more time and your 'angry at fat' attitude and I envision an elated camper as the heavy lifting weeks roll on.
Hmmm....that nair did do a damn fine job on you.....learning, learning weedhopper. <grin>
Best to you on the quest.
