I wanted to see how close I am with the HG300. I was able to get it to a little less than .5". In addition to how tough the gripper is the lack of knurling makes it even more difficult. I'm still trying to convince myself that I'll close it by 1 May. It won't be easy, but I feel I'm up to it.

Sorry about the quality of the video. After watching the video again I believe I'm more than .5" away from closing it. It may take longer than I originally thought it would.

Hadn't really given much thought to your methodology until now. Looks like you're basically at a frequency of about 3x/week, and doing some of the grippers on a pretty low volume, low rep setup. Others you often or mostly do more high rep work with.
Any particular philosophy there, or that's just the way that you happen to do it.

For the most part I prefer low rep training with grippers. Until recently I never went over 5 reps with a gripper. Since I'm most interested in building strength I feel that using low reps and heavier grippers is the way to achieve this. I've started including some higher rep work to fully exhaust my hands. If I had to choose between doing high or low reps I would definitely pick low reps.

The past few training sessions have been nothing special. I really wanted to ccs close my #2.5 by May 1, but I'm not there yet. I actually feel like my crushing strength has reqressed lately(I can't even parallel set close it anymore). I'll probably hold off on training grippers for at least a week while of think of a routine that will help me reach my goal. There was one plus to today's workout:
Edit: This is a pr for me.
I think I'll start training my pinch again so I can lift 5-10s sometime in the near future.

Cool vids as usual, yea its hard to set goals with grippers, somedays they feel harder than others. But with the way you train, you're sure to get it, you'll certainly certify and close the #3 one of these days!

6 eggs at one serving cannot be the best thing for you.. no way
Just to clarify;
This is completely healthy and there is no need for concern. If cholesterol is the issue, there are 2 types LDL and HDL. LDL's the bad one, HDL is good. Eggs are full of HDL and protein. Mother Nature's perfect food.
Have a good weekend Kevin!

Thanks for the info Brian. Even though I was aware of this I wanted to see what explanation a newcomer to my journal had for posting something like that. I'm always open to feedback and criticism as long the person providing it has a suggestion. He didn't provide one so I'm choosing to dismiss the diet advice of someone that is an inch taller than me and 50lbs lighter. With that being said I don't really care if the guy has a six pack because I also had a six pack when I weighed 150lbs (I also had one when I was 175lbs and 8%bf). I think at that height and weight a person should be fairly lean.

This was my first regular workout since injuring my elbow. All weights listed are per side. I'm trying something different with my sets and reps. I'll be doing 2-3 warmup sets (not listed), one heavy set to failure, and one lighter set to failure. For the heavier set once I can do 8 reps I'll increase the weight and for the lighter set when I can 20 reps I'll increase the weight. Today's workout made me realize a few things: rehabbing an injury, terrible diet, lack of proper sleep, and non existant cardio lead to terrible workouts. My elbow didn't feel as bad as it used to, but there are some exercises I won't be doing for a while. It will be at least a few months before I feel comfortable in the gym again.

I like your plan for rehab, looks solid. Are you setting a date to make a huge change in the diet/cardio etc. or starting ASAP?

Glad to see that you're at least able to start getting back to regular workouts. I hope the rehab goes faster than expected, but most importantly without any setbacks.
