I've been cheating in some form almost every day this week, but nothing worth posting. My weight is the same and I don't feel sick from shoving down obscene amounts of food just to hit some sort of calorie target.

I had cocoa puffs, gluten free berry granola, and greek yogurt for breakfast (ok so it was like noon) before I went for a run. Why? It makes it really easy to get a bunch of carbs in without feeling like I have a rock in my stomach during pretty grueling physical activity. Sure I could've eaten like 2.5 cups of "clean" oats, but that would not have ended well. So besides mixing things up for the sake of sanity, I sometimes "cheat" for practical purposes.

Dude, Cheesecake Factory is phenomenal. I love the darker bread they give you at the beginning. Their Miso Glazed Salmon, shrimp spring rolls, and Chicken Medallions are some of my favorites there.

I asked the waiter if they sold the brown bread once. I think it's honey oat....they do...but I didn't buy it
I always try to avoid chains when im at home because NY obviously has amazing food anywhere...but in nashville, chains are it.

LOL!!
F*ck I didn't post my cheat last night.
when I started drinking i had only had about 1000 cals for the day...around 9 pm. I was with my parents all day and didn't bother taking protein bars or anything.
so, I had 4 beers, 2 sour apple 99 proof shots, 2 more beers at the bar, then came home and forced like 1k cals down even though i wanted to vomit.
Some 400 cal frozen steamer bowl of general tsos chicken or some sh*t
an uncrustables, strawberry flavor(5 star)
some casein lol
and lucky charms.
edit: best part is my obvious going home alone...and my roommates even gone for the weekend.
edit#2: actual best part...a bunch of black kids heckled at me calling me jacked or something like that. (no racist)(no homo)

First time I've been disappointed in you Rob.
Formulaic bull**** food, IMO.

It is low quality ingredients and mass processed. In my opinon, their quality is on par with medium level fast food (Chipotle, Subway, Quiznos).
and next time you're in Nashville, check out Zola or Pancake Pantry. I've heard Margot Cafe is great, too.

I'd somewhat agree, but I don't think its mass processed really. And even so, it's not like processed food is that big of a deal. Its not like I eat there every day or anything.
I'd agree that restaurants like chilis or applebees are just disgusting, considering they just microwave everything, but Cheesecake factory impresses me, and I'm the first person who can be a food snob in terms of taste. (yes new yorker)
I'm always in nashville lol.
Never heard of zola...I've been to pancake pantry a few times and I'm pretty unimpressed. It's almost always regular pancakes that they mass produce and just pour whatever topping on it. Just..overrated imo.
Tried margot cafe...Got something brisket-y and didn't really enjoy it.

Olive Garden, Cheesecake Factory, TGI Fridays, Applebees, Bob Evans (Midwest shout out), Red Lobster, Outback, Chili's and pretty much every chain that American's love. The focus is frozen, cheap, and older ingredients that are overcooked and vastly overseasoned to cover up the quality of the meat. The desserts are loaded with unnatural ingredients and the portion sizes are obsurd. Don't even start me on Ihop or Crackerbarrel or QuakerSteak.
The above restaurants are major contributors to the expanding waistline of America and show no remorse. Burger King actually embraces their "****" status, as does Carl's Junior.
I'm not saying these places will kill you in one visit, especially if you work out regularly, but I'm saying they are immoral and low end.
I support independant (or small local chain) style dining as these places often source/buy locally, cook healthfully, and contribute to the community as a whole.
I will throw my hat out to Panera, Baja Fresh, and CoSi as responsible companies that I don't frequent, but do appreciate.

I have nothing against unnatural ingredients, or overseasoning...And besides, after living in nashville for a couple years now, I can understand why these chains do so well.
I don't think these places are to blame for the expanding waistline..., at least any less so than any local or independent restaurants. You should see some of the portions of chinese food that people order from regular places at home(NY), compared to a chain like pf changs where the portions are half the size...or at a local diner where you order a regular burger with fries...and the burger/fries are easily double the size of a standard value meal.
If you want to discuss morals, i won't even bother, especially considering companies who seem to be morally responsible are likely doing it for the positive publicity(no cynic)

Detachment Dining Out/Air Force Ball last night, we had it at Matt's Steakhouse just up the highway:
8oz of some of the best roast beef I've ever tasted
Mashed potatoes w/au jus
Cheese breadsticks
Caesar salad
Green bean casserole
Broccoli salad
Bread pudding and blackberry pie
Then a few of us went to our buddies house for an after party, played a few rounds of beer pong (bud light) and f**k the dealer (natty light), also had 2 Beck's. Nothing too crazy but it was a good time.

Mike,
So you never eat at any of these places? Damn I would have a tough time finding some place that you could eat if you were around here lol. We have pompason,ASO(sushi place),and every other place you mentioned on your list as well as fast food place up the ying yang. We do have famous daves also, Texas Roadhouse, and about 20 mexican places to eat(10miles from the border).
I guess when I eat out its usually in San Diego or Phoenix-Scottsdale area.

no one needs to eat the whole portion. its not these chains fault most americans are fat and and have no self control. hell my mom is skipping breakfast so she can eat dessert at dinner when she eats out and is still losing weight, and her friends do the same. Dont blame the damn chains, they're just trying to make a buck. Blame the fat people stuffing their faces. By the way without fast food i'd still be stuck at 127 lbs

Tried margot cafe...Got something brisket-y and didn't really enjoy it.

agreed pancake pantry is a bit overrated...i'm more biased towards Walker Bros. Pancake House in chicago
