If you slide when eating out, its hard to feel ok with it. But it one time will not ruin you. Monitoring can get ugly real quick, it seems to make you really hard on yourself. But its not worth it to get down, and it makes the whole situation worse. Its just food. Consider it fuel for that awesome leg wo you just nailed!!! Right on!!

I too have been on the hunt for that greek yogurt ... I guess we Canadians are out of luck ... darn!!!!
Have a great day ... TGIF!!!
|
Thanks moisy! Yeah it wasn't so bad looking back on it.
I found a great yogurt though, kind of similar to greek yogurt I think. It's 2.5% MF, with 4g fat, 8g carbs and 10g protein! It's called Liberty Organic Yogurt, and I found it at Save On foods!! It's weird I'm so excited about a yogurt...hehe... but I think I'm going to buy it from now on - very good!

I haven't yet (added weight) so I'll have to see how that goes!
The wide grip pullups are DEFINITELY harder! That's my next goal!

You're definitely a strong motivator, you know? I think I'll start a WWKD club here. During a work out when it gets really hard, think "what would Karina do?" and keep going! YEAH!

You are SO funny!!! You always make me laugh... and sweet too! I'm glad my journal helps at all! I don't always feel like a good motivator, that's for sure!! lol.

Great looking workout!!!
I also have that all or nothing mentallity and I hate it as well. I second guess everything I put in my mouth and if its even slightly off plan (even if its healthy) I'll ponder it!! Good for you for enjoying your lunch...were going to get pass this obsessiveness!!!

Hey Mandy!
I agree, we need to get rid of the all or nothing mentality! It's like I "know" it's bad, but I do it anyway! It's such a bad way of looking at things!!

Man does banana bread sound good right now. I should look up the recipe and bake some tonight to have for the weekend. How do you keep track of macros? Do you just write it down? Yesterday I found a website where you can enter in what you ate and then it comes up with everything for you (macros, calories ect.). You have to sign up though and I didnt because I could find some of the foods that I ate in their list. I think it is an american site.
|
Thanks for visiting!! I really appreciate your thoughts!
If you're looking for the recipe, it's in Tara's journal!! Right before her Easter posts. As for Macros, I record them all in nutridiary (you're doing yours in fitday.com now, right?) It's so much easier than writing it all down, for sure!! Now that I've got all my regular foods in it too, it gets easier and quicker all the time.

Where can I find the banana bread recipe?

Hey Sophie!
Yeah, I think a lot of people can relate to that feeling... grr... so annoying though!
I definitely *do* have DOMS today!!! Yikes!
Oh, the banana bread recipe is in Tara's journal, about 4-6 pages back I think, right before Easter.

Glad you skipped over the food... lol.
Thank you so much - I just think of you, and the workouts you do when I need some focus!! Seriously!!

That sounds awesome too! I'll have to try that sometime soon. Do you eat ground turkey a lot? I've been incorporating more of it into my diet lately.

Great workout today!!
I got LOTS of sleep last night, so woke up feeling refreshed and energized. My bf worked today, so it was a good opportunity for me to get a bunch of stuff done at my place without any distractions! I think I may make some more things today as well before we go out tonight.
The gym was empty! It always surprises me when it's like that on a Saturday, because you'd think people would have more free time... I guess not. No PBs today, but I was a little stronger doing the same reps, and felt like I pushed myself.
Tomorrow's my rest day but I think I'll be doing a bit of cardio, and MAYBE heading to that hot yoga class at noon (I've been talking about it for a while but still haven't actually gone). That's the problem with waiting for my friends to take the class with me... they say they want to, but nobody comes. hehe.
BACK & ABS
+I actually remembered my gloves today, because I set my phone to remind me...came in handy for those pulldowns. Thanks Joan!!

I really want to try a hot yoga class...there is a studio across the street from my house but it is crazy expensive. Is the class included in your gym membership?
Where are you and bf going out to tonight? I hope you have fun and enjoy another cooking session

hey - looks like you had a good workout on saturday. Awsome job. I usuallt take the weekend as my off days (unless I missed a workout during the week, then I make up for it on the weekend). When I have gone for a workout on a saturday or sunday, I too have noticed that my gym is empty. I've also found Fridays to be a lot slower too. Strange eh? I guess people like to go out and party
I've had problems with friends saying they want to do a class or workout with me but never show too. To bad all of us here on bodybuilding.com couldn't get together for a workout.
Have an awsome day!

My gym is pretty empty on the weekends too. I really enjoy having the gym to myself.

Lucky you for having an empty gym on weekends! Mine is always filled!
Your workout was awesome! Great WG Lat Pulldowns, cables and bb row! Very strong! Actually everything looks very solid - as always!
Diet looks very delish! Sprouted flax seed bread, natty PB, sugar free jam! *drool* It's so annoying when friends say they wanna take a class together and then end up not coming anyway. I think you should def try it out anyway, I think you'll really like it!

I had to skip your workout this is my rest week and the temptation to workout after seeing yours is just too much!!!
How are you eating your ricotta? I am tired of my plain ole stuff, literally the only thing I eat with it is the spoon, any suggestions?? (I am getting brave and am willing to mix it with something :gasp:

Hey Mandy.
Yeah, my hot yoga class is "crazy expensive" too!! The only reason I'm thinking of signing up for it is because I get an 'account' with work for Health and Wellness type activities so almost a year's worth of yoga classes weekly would be paid for. Otherwise, there's no way I'd be affording them!

I've had problems with friends saying they want to do a class or workout with me but never show too. To bad all of us here on bodybuilding.com couldn't get together for a workout.
Have an awsome day!

Hey there! Thanks a lot!
It's definitely nice having an empty gym. No kidding, about the people on this board..lol. It would be nice to workout with someone who wants to go just as much as me... haha.

Yum... I'm going to try some 'greek' yogurt on it next time. It's so good!!

|
Hey Sophie!
I know, it's funny how many people love pb & j, for how "simple" it is! I will definitely be trying out the class, even if I have to go by myself! lol.

How are you eating your ricotta? I am tired of my plain ole stuff, literally the only thing I eat with it is the spoon, any suggestions?? (I am getting brave and am willing to mix it with something
|
LOL... you're so funny!
As for the ricotta, I almost always mix it with 1oz of walnuts. Mary introduced me to this in HER journal, and I've been addicted to it ever since!! However, Serine mentioned mixing ricotta with lean ground turkey and tomato sauce (kind of pizza-ish) on toast. I'm going to try that too!!
*WOW* though...you're going to mix things?! LOL!

Ha ha ha.... nope, I didn't even do them last night!
I'm sure you'll be doing them before me! But I will be excited when that day comes...lol (as in, excited for the weighted chinups, not the end of our being friends... tee hee)

Good morning everyone!!!!
It seems I have a habit of disappearing on Sundays! Since it was my rest day, I had nothing much to report. We stayed pretty busy over the weekend, just running around doing errands, shopping and visiting friends.
I'm getting my hair done later today, which I'm really looking forward to! I'm thinking I may get it lightened a bit for the summer. Even though it's not really summer yet...wishful thinking I guess!
Enjoyed my time at the gym last night! Although we went MUCH later than usual, and didn't get home until 11:30 it felt GREAT to be there (and nice not to have to wait for equipment! lol). I told my bf on the way "I'm GOING to do 10 chinups tonight", and I finally did! So that made me happy. I decided to switch from doing weighted bench dips to doing actual dips, and I surprised myself. I'd like to get up to doing full sets, but right now I'm just doing what I can manage. My arms felt really tight and worked hard!
In other news, I made a booking to get my bodyfat tested, now I'm just waiting for a trainer to call me back in regards to scheduling! It should be sometime this week...it's way overdue!
Hope everyone's week is going well so far!
Workout (Mon Mar 31)
NG Chinups - 10, 7, 6, 3
YES!!!! hehe.
Hammer Curls - 10x12.5lbs/hand, 10x12.5lbs/hand, 8x12.5lbs/hand
DB Bicep Curls - 10x15lbs/hand, 10x15lbs/hand, 8x15lbs/hand
These were harder than I expected.
Tricep Rope Pulldowns - 10x50lbs, 10x60lbs, 10x50lbs, 8x50lbs
Skullcrushers - 10x30lbs, 4x40lbs, 10x30lbs, 3x30lbs
Thought I do the 40#, but it was still to heavy. Next time I'll use a bar I can load because I need something in between.
Dips - 10, 8, 6, 3
CARDIO: Nope. The gym was closing already as we were finishing up. I'll make up for it later this week.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NUTRITION
Sprouted flax bread, nat pb, sf jam (forgot my egg whites), chicken breast & green beans, skim ricotta & walnuts, whey & apple, tuna, whey & berries, chicken & asparagus, salad, ff cottage cheese, steak & vegetables + fish oils/multi.
--> Bf and I ended up going out for supper with my parents last night, which threw off my macros a bit. I ordered a steak with vegetables, but I still put my fats way up.
10 chinups! Fantastic!
Yay for getting your hair done. Are you changing the style to or just getting it trimmed?
Woohoo! Congratulations on the chinups!
I laughed a little when you said you didn't get home until 11:30. I've been having a little talk with myself this morning for not being fast asleep by that time last night  It never ceases to amaze me you can pump out such awesome workouts that late in the day.
Hope your hair turns out nice! Maybe summer will get the hint if you get your hair ready for summer
Also, that's really cool about the bf testing. What method do they use?
I like steak
Great job on the chins! So your dips were unassisted too? That is awesome! I'm still workin on that! hehe.
I don't think there is anything wrong with being missing from here for a day or so - sometimes it is good to take a break from 'reporting' but then again, I think I am an addict because I log on every day! lol
Great Work! Way to go with the chin ups. I can only do probably 2 good ones without weight....... 10 is quite a ways away.
Your diet looks really good. It's grocery day for me today so I'm looking forward to getting some food (starting to run low, lol) and trying out some new recipes.
Keep it up.... I love your posts!
