Bulgarian Split Squats
I am looking for the proper way to perform "Bulgarian Split Squats." Can anyone 'splain them to me. All I know is that they are painful.

Pretty decent description on the above website. I find that the dumbbell version is a bit easier assuming your grip strength is up to par. Try not to allow your weighted knee pass your toes. Similar to doing squats, when your knee passes your toes the stress on the knees increase. Keep weight on your heel throughout the lift just like every other lower body exercise. Those bulgarian squats will make a man out of you

I don't know if this changes the name but try holding a plate out in front of you - damn that's the hardest thing I've ever done

Thanks!! I might give this a try. My left ACL was giving me a little trouble late last year, so I don't want to re-injure it. I might give it a try without weights to start with.

Interesting but I can't see myself using them for an extended period of time, just maybe once and a while to change it up for something new

these things are ****in hard
cant wait till my current cycle of exercises on WS4SB ends and I switch over to lunges
They are really hard on your quads, and your glutes should hurt like hell the day after them too (especially if you do them with added ROM).
Good exercises
also does anyone else find it really tiring just to hold that position for like 10 reps each leg, takes such concentration not to fall over or lose balance
