I was wondering why this thread was getting so many hits and replies lately. Fiend__73 told me that it's featured on the homepage of BB.com

This great-grandmother started bodybuilding at the age of 72. This just goes to show you that it's never too late to get in the gym and make things happen.
Here's the link to the story http://www.citypaper.net/articles/20...03/naked.shtml
and here is her picture!
I intend to look just as good when I get her age.
EDITED - If you google her name you will see a lot of interviews and other pictures. Her name is Morjorie Newlin.

GODDAMN!! Am I actually looking at this? She's in OMNIPOTENT shape for her AGE! She doesn't look a day over 45 years old! Now SHE is a person that I'd love to meet in person! How many people you know her age looks THIS DAMN GOOD?!? I am terribly sad she passed away.

Very inspirational
I'm so glad I saw this...it's sad that Ms. Newlin passed on but wow, how wonderful that she actually "lived". So many eldery don't live very happily, it seems. After visiting my mom in a nursing home this past weekend, seeing these elderly people in a negative state - depressed, frail...all I thought about was Ms. Newlin and wish I had her picture to show these seniors. They can still work on themselves. I was encouraging my CHF mom to do knee extensions and bicep curls while sitting down wearing her oxygen as she does 24/7. I told her she needs to get ready for some nice spring weather. It perked her up a bit. She'll never become a body builder but can work on gaining strength and working on her balance.
Thanks for posting this.

Glad I saw this. I may be wrong, but I think I see fewer bodybuilders of this age, so quite inspiring to me to see. Normally one sees a few joggers, walkers, etc but less of the BB crowd. Nice to see the results of her work. inspired me!

Just thought I would jump in here, I seen her on Tyra a couple of months back, as I was sitting in my docs office. She sure is an ispiration to us all. I didnt know she passed. Her life is a true testimony of what anyone can do, if we just put ourselves to it. God bless her...

Inspiration
Wow, she looked great! Now I truly believe age is just a number.
I'm deeply sorry and sad to hear of her passing, however, her legacy and inspiration will absolutely live on forever.
R.I.P. Ms. Newlin.
