Back during high school(before I knew anything about how to really build muscle) I used to do sets of 50 with about a minute's rest in between. It was crazy, but I thought it was actually working, lol. So I'd imagine that I could do quite a bit more in just one set, probably 75ish.

the more you work out...
the harder pushups seem to get to a certain point?
like 20 or so is easy
then it gets harder and harder?

I remember when I used to do 6 sets(not in a row) of 50 bar push-ups! Craziness man, I did them way to much then. That was like everyday. Also, half-push up position, god-send!

I can probably get in the high 40's to low 50's...and thats only with a bench or 235ish. I'm more into low reps too though so that might change the number i can do.

65ish on the APFT.
Slow and controlled it's quite a bit less.

Yea. I had to take an APFT for West Point. You have 2 minutes to get to 75 and then you stop. I thought that was really gay. You in Rangers, National Guard, ROTC, Air Force or any thing other than those?

if theres no time limit but no stopping to rest, then around 70. if they're fast.
if they're slow, to a cadence "down.....up!" then around 40 right now. in high school i got around 48 like that.
