Opening up a gym
I have to do a business plan as part of my degree and I'm thinking about doing it on a gym. Does anyone know of any information that they can give me about opening one up from scratch?
I'm wanting to know if you specifically need any qualifications to open one up? I dont actually need them for the purpose of this plan but need to obviously write them in.
Thanks.
Michele

There are many different kinds of gyms.
Opening a private hole in the wall club or operating a commercial franchise are obviously very different.

Are you aware that it costs an average of 15-35$ per square foot JUST for equipment?

It would be a small, private, gym. Any knowledge on opening something like that up? just thought people on this forum would have a lot of knowledge.

if you are private, insurance costs may kill you
go with a chain, like snap fitness or something local for you

I'm going to base it in a small town in Italy where there is only 1 other gym, hence the reason behind doing it there. Maybe with an Italian chain, yeah?

i did not know it would be in Europe, i have no idea what insurance is like over there, but in the US to open a private gym and if anything happens to a single member, you may have some huge money problems

It's the misc. section. You tragically overestimated it.
