If you take that same money and put it into the stock market you could have over $2 million when you retire. I'm just sayin'...

Saving when you're young is critical. Time is by far the biggest factor in compounding your money.

I'm young but well on my feet. Career is in place along with everything else. I might just wait it out a bit.

BWM Rocks!
I've owned a BMW since 1999. 1999-2002 I had a M Roadster built with a spoiler and a hard top removable option which looked just like the james bond car ... 2003-2005 I got a Z4,it was fun, but just ok... 2006 until now I have an X3, which is awesome. Dual DVD in headrests, loaded, great for sporting trips, etc. BMW quality is one of the best!

Why's there a picture of an R8 in here?
I'm on my 4th BMW (as well as having been down the Audi road as well), started with an E36 M3, then an 02 E46 m3, 06 E90 330i, and now an 05 E46 M3 6 speed.
If you have any questions, hit me up. Is this your first BMW? I've never really been a fan of a roadster and feel that if you're going to go with your first BMW, make it a coupe or so.. something you can have friends in with you and so forth.
hit me up if you have any questions.

Are you serious? I drove my mum's X3 for a while, and she sold it because she said it was for little girls - which makes sense, my sister was the only one in our family who ever enjoyed it.
Sell it and get your old Z3 M back, or go bigger bucks and get an X5 if you like jeeps now..

I don't know man, the 135 MSRP is only what, $5,000 shy of the 335i? AND there's what, a mere 350-400 pound difference? I'm not a fan of the 135 (i've been in one) the interior just feels cheap like that of the X3 compared to the X5 or even the new X6 (drool).
I'd say shoot for a 335 E92 (coupe) and you'll be in business Not to mention for a bit shy of $2500 you can be pushing over 400bhp.

A car that's a little on the pricey side, yes.
A more economical/practical car would be good for a person 18-20 years of age. Everything varies from person to person due to various reasons though.

well, you can score a lot of BMWs for a pretty low price now. I scooped up my 05 M3 at a deal due to the 08's coming out rather soon.
A lot of kids pick up an older 99/00 E46 3 series for 9,000 plus and fix it up a bit.. hell, you can get that thing looking as if it's an 03 (before the 04 front end face lift) if you wanted to from parts off ebay.
the REAL situation is if you can afford the maintenance or not. ;-)

Thanks. I pretty much have everything I need and most of what I want. Career is good, home life is incredible, retirement is a real thing that's close at hand. Life is pretty good overall. Right now I'm a bit ill because almost all of our cars are in the shop for expensive **** but I don't have any payments so I really shouldn't bitch
Now go talk to Steph and Trac and convince them that they should both hang out with you at the same time

so what is a better time to buy? a 21 yr old who is single and has a well-paying career, or a 35 yr old with 3 kids and a wife who makes marginally more than the 21 yr old?
