Chances are that most people on this forum talk alot of trash about their game and they are not nearly as good as they say they are. There is, however, a natural confidence that you need to make it to D1 College and the Majors. Except alot of people on here have way to much in themselves.
You have to have more assets to yourself than the throw or the bat.
Ever wonder why teams invite you to workout with them before they ask you to attend their college? This is to see if your A. Coachable B. A team player C. Not a complete ass when it comes to game and pressure.
Theres always gonna be someone better than every single person on this forum. You make the baseball hall of fame or you break a home run record then you can tell me if im good or bad at baseball.

It's not even that the "bad teammates" are in the majority on this site. It's just that they make so much noise it really doesn't do much for anyone else.
I have looked at this site for almost four years now and if I thought everyone here was an ass I would have stopped.
AK, I'm UpstateNY from HSBBW. I like this site a lot more for S&C (except the fact that some of these trolls pissed off people like Jon Doyle too much that he left) but for recruiting and travel ball stuff HSBBW is certainly much better because it is purely baseball.

A plyo plan will do wonders for most athletes. First, speed is becoming an intergral part on the scouting system. Speed and Vert are half of the Sparq rating, and many colleges are transfering to it. Adding to that the Sparq method of testing has a 30 not a 60 which leads an athlete to need explosivness even more.
I'm a small (5'7" 135lbs) sophmore yet still use plyos because it builds elasticity. Why arn't powerlifters the fastest guys around even though they have the most strength? Because their muscle is used for max strength, not the stretching and contracting involved in running. Plyometrics help develop this and increase fast muscle twitch fibres (unless all the studies are wrong). A proper plyo program could do wonders for any athlete no matter their size. By saying a 280 lbs. guy would benifit but a 150lbs. guy wouldn't your pretty much saying it is a conditioning program. Let's ask Mark Vestergen his feelings on plyometrics. He trains some of the fastest athletes (Carl Crawford and Deangelo Hall are just two of them) at Athletes Performance and uses plyos with nearly all of his athletes, from Curt Shilling to Brian Roberts.

That being said, plyometrics must be used right to be effective and they can cause injuries when used improperly.

You realize Curt is vastly out of shape and Brian Roberts was on the sauce, right?

While talking about Plyos and extra stuff lemme show you this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIpz5VlF_y8
This is Jeff Cirillo, as anyone may know, hes not the biggest of fellas and hes not the strongest, but look at his workout for spring training. He covers it with Plyos and Body Weight standards. He also goes for baseball specifics.
If you keep your workout on the specifics of baseball, you will not gain as much muscle, but you will be specific movement to baseball.
Also Weak thats tight i dint know it was you. Your journal for UA was pretty neato.

I was glad the journal helped so many people. I stand by all of Jon's stuff that I have used. I have never met him before, but I owe him a lot considering doing his programs helped me get faster and raise my BA and slugging %. If I end up playing in college I can just about attribute all of it to my hard work and his guidance.
