Female Photos: Sex vs. Results
I want to comment on something that kind of troubles me about female posts vs. male posts, and get feedback from other FEMALES. It's like we have two camps here, those that post their physique, more or less focusing on their training, and then what I refer to as the stripper camp. They seem to be very much interested in showing off the results of their financial investment (i.e., their fake breasts).
I have nothing against fake breasts, or dressing like a slut (I partake in that myself), or maximizing your man appeal, or whatever, but it's kind of disappointing to me that women use this forum to do it, because everything seems to fall into that category. It's like, can't we have one place to go to that is not catering to the libido of the 20 year old male? I want to come here and find out what other women do to get bigger and stronger and leaner, not really to see women posing for Girls Gone Wild!!! part IV. I guess it's a matter of hoping women are taken seriously as an athlete when they weight train, the same way men are. I really don't think they are. When we go to the gym, we are "toning". When men go, they are "working".

Sex sells. Plain and simple. And if you want anything that you do to be successful anymore as far as business goes, you've gotta throw in the boob aspect. There are alot of women on here who don't cater to that mind set and they are the strongest ones in my mind, but there are alot of them that do. We shoot ourselves in the foot when we say "respect me! I'm just like you!!" but then throw on a thong and teeny triangle to get ourselves "noticed". Alot of it is from the pressure of the men, I'm sure, but we're our own biggest enemy in this.

You have to take into consideration people's motivation: those women who post pics of themselves that make them look like streetwalkers and worse, are obviously not very concerned with their image as athletes or particularly proud of what they've accomplished in the gym. If they can get more attention from guys for that close-up shot of their cleavage, then that's apparently all that matters. Those of us who really are here to post our progress, catch up with inspiring other athletic women online, and find out new information about our favorite sport(s) put out our best foot forward and generally are all business. And the athletes, I think, may just have a little bit more respect for themselves in general that they don't feel they have to fall back on sex to be attractive to other people. But that's just my thought.
And no way do I go to the gym to "tone"--I'm working just as hard as any guy, maybe harder!!

Cheers to that! Here in the apartment gym I have heard from quite a few people that I'm the hardest worker in there, and I definitely push myself to live up to that.
Seeing women in the industry flaunt those parts of their anatomy, it...disappoints me. They have worked just as hard as any of us for their physique, but most people will notice that second to the pictures of their goods. There's really no reason to take photos like that, because you could just as easily show your progress in a more covered-up way. I feel that it reflects poorly on other women who want to really develop their physiques because it makes the reasons seem shallow. I don't plan on taking close-ups of my breasts, pictures in lacy underwear, etc. Those aren't the parts I care about! I want people to look at my biceps and quads! I am doing this for my own benefit and to test myself, not for the attention of virile young men. I have my own, and he's the only one who sees me in my sexy skivvies

Don't a lot of professional sportswomen do this esp. in tennis [ sabatini - kournikova ] , so i am not sure what the difference is. I think a lot of them are trying to use the site as a career centre and if that works for them - ok fine! I suppose the old adage if you've got it - flaunt it still applies.

Yea, but people in tennis don't have their physiques judged on an objective basis, nor do they spend hours perfecting them. If a tennis star wants to show off her goods, it doesn't reflect poorly on her tennis skills. If a bodybuilder wants to show off her good even more than she already does on stage, it reflects poorly on the point of her perfecting her physique. When a physique competitor goes out of her way to post extra-racy pictures for free, people are looking at her breasts instead of her muscles. When a tennis player takes pictures for a magazine, people still watch her game if they are interested in it.

Though I'm a 22 yo male, I agree with what you are saying. I think the stuff a lot of women post on here has nothing to do with bodybuilding and is all for male attention. I think that stuff should be left for other sites not this one and it also makes it very easy to pass judgement. I know this is the female forum but I just thought I'd throw in my perspective hah hope you don't mind.

Funny that you write about as that was something I too had noticed as I'd been perusing the site. It seems as though even alot of the articles written by and addressed to women are sexy-looking...why this is is beyond me.
I sort of understand posting sexy shots because, for instance, there's a great transformation story to be told and looking sexy was one of the goals. And then, think that as long as there's some brains behind the beauty then it's all a.o.k.
I'm torn between: being perturbed, trying not to judge and being inspired.

I would have to agree - some of the pictures are a little too much
and while we are at it - what about women who weigh absolutely nothing
or saying they are 16%bodyfat asking for a a way to lose more weight.

Breast implants or no...so i say let's not judge, just cheer each other on. YEAY! YOU GO GIRL! Why should we hide our beautiful muscles and...well if you got them.... boobs! ???? We paid good bucks for them right? I mean come on girls.......

I don't even have any pictures in my bodyspace because it creeps me out to think about who would be looking at them. If I ever do put pictures up though, they will be as non-sexual as possible.

Well, I think most 'fitness models' are a joke, personally, as well as the majority of the booth bunnies. There is a big difference between 'hiding' one's physique and having your avatar feature cleavage because you have no musculature. Hotness is in the eye of the beholder.

I kind of agree...I mean, yea, they have to stay slim, but that's not hard to do if you don't eat much and do a bunch of cardio. None of them have any muscle. They're just slender with huge fake boobs. Shoot, if I got my boobs done and lived on salad I could get there too. It's hard as hell having muscle mass and being lean!
Plus I'm whiney today because this 6 day split is fricking exhausting and I'm annoyed with the cardio bunnies

That's why I am always really happy when I see actual female competitors appear in supplement ads. They are few and far between, but it is nice to see an appropriate representation every so often.

I have to agree with the majority of you on this issue. I've seen photos of one member in particular who posts her so called "bodybuilding" or "progress" pics of her shoving her ass in front of the camera in the skimpiest underwear ever.... whatever... its tacky as hell...

I guess they figure that you can't see the muscles if there's all sorts of big bulky underwear covering them up hehehe

I'm all for adults doing what they want to do, but I think some people here should be prepared for the attention (negative and positive) they get when they post certain pictures. It appears that some members here will do just about anything to be in the top 6 profiles (from adding as many members as friends as they can so they get hits on their profiles to posting the sexiest pics they can). What really bothers me about the top 6 is that at one time there were 2 minors in it (one was wearing a really skimpy outfit). Another thing that bothers me about the top 6 is that there are plenty of female competitors and females that have made amazing transformations that never make it to the top 6 because they do not have implants. I find it funny that a bodybuilding site would feature females that don't appear to workout over females that are in amazing shape.

Op ur jealous! Maybe you dont have the boobs to show? And whats wrong in seeing some flesh from females? Don't get me wrong, i wont like my GF to do this. I'd much rather somneones else do this.
And yeah since when did women not like attention? I never met one who doesn't! We all know your attention seeking games. We know you love the great commnets, so we play along and seek opportunities as they present themsleves.

I think that most of the people who view the top 6 girls site's probably not bodybuilders, some are just looking for soft porn. Why is it that the top 6 guys are muscular and the girls are not? Is this sterotypical of what guys think girls should look like, soft with big boobs?

Absolutely not. Difference of opinion is what makes a discussion board. However, troll = obvious disrespect of the topic, as well as an intentional misunderstanding of the issue at hand, ie being deliberately obtuse, particularly from a faceless, nameless individual. Being 'hot' is great if you are here for visual pleasure. Some people, however, are around to learn and grow in the realm of bodybuilding, hence the name of this website.
