That's interesting because when I called the one on Golf Rd. their prices were cheaper than the one in north arlington. The guys at the north arlington xsport said that that one is cheaper because its a smaller facility... but the actual weight/cardio part is better?

Sorry, I do mean just east of 53. I never called the golf rd. xsport. The north arlington is only a 3 minute drive for me. It is much better than the 25 I had previously. I guess it is all in the owner and how many memberships they need to sell. I paid in a lump sum to get the 3 months free. So, if you average it out including those 3 months it came to about $25 and some change a month. They also throw in free tanning, manicure, pedicure and a massage. I was so pumped over the manicure!!! j/k

May be moving to the north side of Chicago soon. Does anyone live in that area and know of a decent gym to check out? I'd rather not pay like $100/month for a gym where everyone goes to socialize. I'm looking for extensive free weights and some cardio equipment. Anyone ever go to the Elston XSport Fitness?

I really like the Xsport on school rd. I forget the cross street, but it is next to a whole foods where you can park for free. It is open 24/7 and there are a lot of fit people there. Not to mention the talent! It isnt very expensive, I think $40 a month.

i work out at xsport lombard when im home from school

same thing, no pool, basketball courts, its all weights/cardio/tanning and lots of juicers

I go to XSport on North and Wells...I would assume that it is the same type of atmosphere, and from what I see most people go, do their work, and get the hell out of there. I've been at the same gym for almost a year now and the only time I've talked to anybody is to ask if they are using something.
Plus Xsport is one of the only ones I found in the city that is 24-7

XSport has a 3 new Gyms in Chicago coming. Check out their site. xsportfitness.com.

About the price difference, the Arlington South (my friend manages there) is cheaper because it's a smaller gym. The North is a full size gym. (This is all if I remember correctly) If you get a membership at South AH you only get their "B or C" sized gyms. I do not remember which ones. If you get a membership at North, you get access so all the gyms except the special gyms. Go talk to a sales guy and ask them how much each package cost. But again, I USED to work there and don't know how they're doing it now. This was last year.

Yeah, this is correct. The South Arlington gym simply consists weights, cardio, and some tanning booths. The North Arlington Heights gym also has a swimming pool, rock climbing, bball court which is the reason why it is more expensive. Funny to see a couple of people on here also work out at the South Arlington Heights gym. I love that gym.

It's so funny to see all these people that go to XSport. I've been to almost every single one in the suburbs. Both north and south Arlington Heights, Downers Grove, Naperville, and Bolingbrook.

I used to have a PT at the Bolingbrook facility but then I upgraded my membership so I could use whatever gym I want. I work in Buffalo Grove so I usually just hit up the place in Downers Grove on my way home to Naperville. You can usually find me at the one in Naperville on the weekends when I don't have to work.
