Oh yeah you'll definitely get ripped. I can definitely tell I'm getting pretty muscular and toned down, and that's that my diet isn't really tightened up much either.

Once I'm done, it'll be my 90 day progress pics. I know I missed a set in between but I want to make these look better so. Feb 11th is my end date I believe.

Question about P90X and utilzing a gym

Deadfingers,

Do you think it is possible to do P90X at the gym? I was thinking about ripping the DVD(s) videos down to my MP3 player that happens to play Video and then doing the workout at the gym where there are plenty of dumb bells, pull-up bars and space. Do you find you need to watch the videos with same intensity once you've been through them or are audio queues eventually enough? The gym I have has some space where i can hide while doing things like the yoga and kempo.

Yes you could do it at the gym with the way you're thinking of. Not sure how big your screen is, but you have audio cues that you can listen to if you know what the exercises are. I suggest doing it for at least a month so you know how to do it, but if you have a screen then you can just look at it to see what exercise they are doing and just do that. It shouldn't be too hard, he usually tells you how many reps you're going to do, or if you're doing max reps (on your own). Once they're done with the exercise they give a beeping noise that goes off once, but it's very distinguishable, so yeah you just need to know the pattern they go off of. Good luck.

Alright here's another update, been a while but I'm still going with it. Took a few days off, my knee was killing me. On Thursday I slipped on some black ice and twisted something or landed on my knee or something and it hurts to bend it all the way. So far I'm doing the exercises that don't make it hurt more, so yesterday I did Chest, Back and Tri.

I'm still here guys, still doing P90X and all just not anything new really. I can definitely tell I packed on some muscle and I got leaner. I really need to tighten down my diet if I want to get "ripped" soon though.

I can't do that Plyo....it hurts the Knees too much.

The kickboxing is great then I do rowing machine, bike, and eliptical for aerobics....

I need to do that Yoga tape...that kills me

Sorry guys, still been doing P90X, I've included Spinning on Mondays and Wednesdays so I haven't been doing all the workouts. I didn't get bored, I love these workouts. I just haven't been able to get internet at home that's why I'm behind. Sorry, will post progress pics this week if my internet is set up by tomorrow.

I would suggest sticking with P90X straight through the 13weeks if you are going to do it. There were points in the program where I appeared to have plateaud in weight, but I was gaining muscle during those weeks. And the next week I would drop 1-3 lbs. I followed it to a 'T' and it truely worked for me. You can see my before after pictures in my BodySpace.

I only did a few extra workouts during those 13 weeks. I didnt want to do the lean program, just classic P90X because I didnt want to burn out and still wanted to gain muscle in the process of shedding fattage.

Actually I've already done about 26 weeks of P90X, I started in November last year. I've just been eating like crap, that's why I haven't had the greatest of results as I'd like. I plan on keeping P90X as my main workout, but I'm including some running this coming round. I plan on doing a "cutting" and a "bulking" cycle. The cutting cycle will be done with the lean routine and on Mon, Wed, and Fri I'll do some running. During my bulking cycle I plan on doing the regular routine and Mon and Wed do Spinning which would be my only cardio for the week. Nice results man, I know I've grown a lot of muscle with P90X I just need to start eating right (that was my biggest problem) and I'll be good. Thanks for the advice though.

It was one helluva workout though, but in order for me to really get the most use out of it I'll need to get more coordinated. It's ridiculous how uncoordinated I feel using this program, but I guess that's the whole point, to strengthen all of that. Well Tomorrow is Cardio X! w00t
Are you using the DVD's as prescribed in the book? I'm going from memory, but it seems like you don't begin using Core or Cardio X until Phase 2 and 3.

Well that post was quite some time ago, but I started with Cardio X since I downloaded it and wanted to see what it was about. Eventually I got the actual DVDs and followed it as prescribed.

round 2 of p90x, still trying to figure out a few things...need help.

Today I was able to do it after a horrible felt yesterday. I did OK. When compared to that of last week, my pushups were indeed worse than I expected. The number of total pushups dropped a bit. Below is a comparison with respect to that of Week 6. I really didn?t have the energy to do that many pushups. I mean I really pushed it hard and even though I knew my muscles have the potential to do the pushups, I felt like they didn?t have enough energy to do that many. Is this because of the diet or mental or is that ok to have this much of a fluctuation between workouts?

Floor Flys: 28 / 24

Side to Side Pushups: 26 / 18 (lowest performance of all weeks)

Plyo Pushups: 15 / 14

One Arm Balanced: 13 /14

DIET:

Breakfast 9 am: 1 flour tortilla, 2 tablespoon peanut butter, 8oz skim milk and 1 banana..
Lunch: Veggie Burger, 3 cups of greensalads
Snacks: String Cheese and almonds
Dinner: 0.7lbs ground beef (93%), 3 cups of greens, 8 strawberries, 1 cup green beans.

BTW, I am just wondering if the results are not that good because I am not using recovery drink. In the meal plan, it says I gotta get the recovery drink. Does it affect the performance this much? Would my results get better with recovery drink added to the diet?

Hey there! Few questions what are your stats Age Height Weight etc. It could be possible that you are not eating enough to fuel your body. This could cause the Decrease In performance and drop in numbers, let me know and I will try to help you the best I can. Also Check out my Beachbody Coaching Site www.CoachDireland.com, has my e-mail and facebook page listed on there. Hit me up. You should also increase your meals form 4 to 5 or 6, every 2-3 hours, the recovery drink is not needed but it helps, I would be more then glad to discuss this with you, or give you some Ideas.

How much protein are you taking in? That doesn't even seem like 1500 calories. You should be getting around 180g of protein at your weight, and possibly more to build muscle. Protein builds muscle, and you also need to nourish your body more. You have plenty of fiber in there, but not much protein. Also your breakfast seems like a "big snack" as opposed to a real breakfast.

I'm getting better at the Chaturanga run/chaturanga, and the reach high pushups are getting better. I still tip over on every other pushup when I do those though, maybe it's my shoes or my horrible balance. I definitely worked my butt off though, I'll probably just up the dextrose to 30g next time and see how that works. Still feeling great on TKD though, I didn't feel tired at all today which is odd since usually around lunch time I NEED a nap. I've been reading up a lot, and so far it seems like Keto might just be a permanent thing with me for now. I definitely feel a lot more energetic and more focused. When I used to eat a lot more carbs I felt lethargic, and because of that I also had trouble concentrating. So this'll definitely stay with me a while. I used to add these onto my Keto Journal a while back, so I'll do it here. This is what my diet was for today:

hey just wondering if the software you used is from p90x?

That's "Fitday", it's a free website where you can track that kind of stuff. Pretty damn good, going to be using it again to track my macros better.

Smile P90x..

That is what I have been telling people for the past 4 months when they ask me what I did to get such dramatic results. I tell them that I have been doing something called P90X and it have gotten me in the best shape of my life. It is so easy for me to talk about this because I know that most people want to be in great shape and that me as a Beachbody Coach will do what I can to help you get there. Good luck in your P90x experience!
