I competed at age 17, left the sprot and the Gym at 19, returned to the gym at 37 and competed at 38 again. I am here to stay and wish I had never left. Starting a family young (19) forced me to take care of my responsibilities, but my dream is back. It is a lot of fun to compete, and even more fun feeling good about your body. God Bless. Brian

If I may be permitted to demonstrate:
Barry Thomas (aged 60, soon to be 61)
Bernie Cooper (aged 65)
Dennis Mason (aged 62)
Dennis Rude (aged 57)
Scott Hults (aged 64)
and all 100% natural.

In Feb....
I just started BB'ing 8 months ago. Lifting and bodybuilding is not something I do, but it is a lifestyle...
I love getting to the gym, and hate leaving...LOL
I'll compete for the first time May 24th 2008. It will be an NGA event...

Wow, you guys are an inspriation to keep at it. I see you guys then look at men I know your age and think wtf? And all they do is whine about how bad they feel. I have tried to influence my dad and father in law but they just keep going to the Dr to find out why they feel so crappy.

I've tried to get my dad back into it too... that man is built to row... not fair... I remember going to the gym with him and seeing him on the Concept 2 ergometer and it was a completely natural movement, most people have to be taught how to do it... he's 6 foot with really long arms and was totally unfit at the time and yet I had difficulty keeping up with him... not fair... saying that he gets a kick out of me in the gym... he is actually very supportive...
Just imagine Santa Claus in the gym.... that's my dad... and I think he's one of the few people (specifically men and of his age) I actually know that don't think it's unladylike, ugly etc for a girl to lift weights... it's great...

I have a daughter 12 years older than you, so I'm pretty sure I'm older than your father and father in law. I do not even have a family Dr., I take NO prescription drugs, I'll take an ibuprofin once or twice a year, haven't had a cold or illness in at least 10 years.
Tell 'em to get off their duff and start living !!
