Juliet, have you been losing steadily for a while? Often, especially when you're building muscle, the scale won't move but you will lose inches. Are you measuring?
Edited to add: Measuring body inches, lol. I did notice that you're measuring food

My last caloric intake goal was 2800, but I was averaging less at 2200 and VERY full. In fact one night I threw out half my dinner because I was starting to gag. I will not eat if my body says no more, from now on.
So I am gonna go for 2100 until Sunday, with an increase in my water ( I have not had enough water lately ) , an increase in my cardio ( which I hate ).

Well, when I started I weighed 193 (alot which was holiday bloat). I am down to 186 as of Friday My lowest (the week before Christmas) was 184.5 .. so I 'm just 1.5 lbs over that
I think I am going to stick to the once-monthly weigh-in and pics, though, because I've been losing for some time, and 2 weeks is no longer a long enough period to see progress.
Good luck to you all's who are doing the twice-montly thing!

No I never lose steadily. Since the beginning of this contest I had lost 6 pounds, but it was all in a matter of two days. I measure every few days. The inches are SLOWLY moving down and some are moving up- like in my arms.

6 lbs in less than 2 weeks is awesome
When I first started this lifestyle it was about 5 weeks before I saw progress on the scale ... but I lost more than 10 inches overall on my body, and went down a size

Also you got to remember everyones body is different. Some will lose inches before they see weight loss and some will see weight loss at first. Best thing to do is to keep at it anyways
haha nice! X10000 ^___^

Thanks!
Just had a little slip-up...downed 3 Zone bars at once, AFTER eating my beef chili! I came back from a 1.5-hour walk in the park, and was ravenous. I wanted a 4th one, but was able to control myself, thank god, lol.
Anyway, now I'm at 1300 calories and I've been up for 5 hours, and have about another 10 to go...I think that I should be able to stay under 2200 today without too much difficulty, although I'm aiming for 2000, since I didn't work out today...but only consuming about 700 calories over the course of like 3 meals will probably be a challenge.

YMCA, I have noticed a HUGE difference in my body's response when I increase my cardio and water intake to where it should be. I think this is a great decision on your part. Let us know if it works--it should! I will be doing the same thing this week--got a little lazy last week. No more!

How much cardio are you doing this week?
I can't decide whether to add a 20-30 min steady state session after my boxing workouts, for an extra 40-60 minutes of SS cardio a week. I do it occasionally, but don't know if I should make it a permanent part of my workout. I'll probably have to drink my protein shake after boxing and THEN go do this cardio, else I'll be going without food for like 4 hours.

hi evryone!
I did my carbup yeasterday, which felt a bit strange after two weeks of low-carb. This morning I did 20 minutes HIIT, with a higher incline than normal which burned more calories and of made it really challenging
I'm going to add some cardio to my lifting days in addition to HIIT, I think.

Good question. Answer is NOT enough to be certain. I only do between 30-45 minutes a day, five days a week.

My goal is twice a day, five to six days a week. Each session is forty minutes. I walk at a 15% incline on the treadmill to prevent burning muscle. My trainer recommended that for me last year, and it works really well for me. I was off work last week, which threw off my schedule, but I'm hitting it again in the morning. I am going to shake it up with a few different cardio classes this week, but will stick with the treadmill for all but two or three of those cardio sessions.
Yes, I'd definitely have protein in between boxing and cardio, although I don't know how in the world you can do cardio after that! I'd be half dead!

Alright, so let's all set our commitment to cardio this week and stick with it! I commit to ten cardio sessions of 40 minutes, or 20 if I do HIIT.

After like 1.5 hours at boxing, you hit a point where you can just keep going and going forever; I guess it's the equivalent of the runner's high.
Man, I've been so hungry lately! The first 4-5 days on the diet, I had no issues with keeping my calories down...but for the last 2-3 days, it's been a real struggle! Hopefully it means I'm burning fat when I'm resisting the urges to eat more.

I had a rocky end of the year but I have committed to change this condemned house into a temple of the HG. I will post with everyone so I can be accountable to others in the struggle, and so I can know I have a host of caring people who will be checking in on me, especially my girl (YMCA4ThisChick).
My stats:
271 lbs and 43%b body fat. Today is the beginning for the rest of my life.

That's what I always tell myself when I'm hungry...that it must mean I'm losing fat!
That's awesome that you get to that point. I've only had a runner's high like once...maybe twice. Pretty amazing feeling.
Ladies, the newness is wearing off, and this is where a lot of people get discouraged and start dropping away. Just remember that we're in it for the long haul, and it's a lifelong change, so let's not be discouraged when the scale doesn't reflect our progress. We're still improving!

I too will be on that added cardio bandwagon chicas. I actually enjoy cardio though, so my situation is different, but I want to go back to my longer outdoor runs in the a.m.
Today is one of those days that will not be logged diet wise. I binged on orange juice. I have to run to the store and replace my roommates. I am on keto, so I guess that will be a part of the carb up that lasted too long, but tommorow marks my run increase.
I am going to try to average 6-8 miles a day. 2-3 for breakfast, 2-3 for after-dinner snack and then my usual 1-2 before I hit the weights.
See what a week of this feels like.

Today's #s:
2275 cals (bad girl! call this a refeed, hehe)
68 g fat (damn Zone bars! they add up quickly!)
246 carbs
37 fiber (I've had HORRIBLE gas/bloating today....urgh)
182 protein
Off from the gym today, but I went for a walk in the hills/by the river and managed to get lost, so it turned into a 1.5-hour walk, which I guess is a bona fide low-intensity workout.

Mornin' everyone! Looks like you all had a pretty good weekend. Mine was good as well. Yesterday was really good - the sun was out and hubby and I hit the road for about 120miles of ride time...not bike, but Harley ride time...after an hour of cardio though. Yippee....such a blast. Looking forward to more sun.
So this weekend was great...actually ended up doing chest on Satruday and still feel it today. Got all of my cardio in, and maintained weight...158.
Today was not a good morning for workout - was way tired from all of the fresh air yesterday, but did get up and do some push-ups, low impact jumping jacks, bi-curls etc...just to get the blood flowing. This afternoon is the start of week two of shoulders...and an hour of cardio post weights.
Friday I got my orthodics which are amazingly helpful. My big toes sit into this little hole in the orthodic, and it feels so good and secure. My hammy does not hurt anymore either. Amazing.
Todays food is as follows:
M1: 1/2c Egg whites, 1c cooked oats
M2: 1/2c cottage cheese
M3: 2c romaine, 1/2c tomatoe, 2tbsp dressing, 95g (1 link) chicken sausage
M4: 1/4 apple, 1 bocca burger (within 1/2hr of workout)
M5: 30g protien, 4 strawberries, veggie broth
P= 106.25, C= 65.35, F= 19.55
Have a great day all - talk to you later...

Cardio Week it is!! Last week I did 5x 40mins cardio, so this week I will be inspried by RDF803 and commit to 10 sessions this week... though I will probably need until Sunday to get it all in... in the Eat Clean Workout book, Tosca Reno (sp?) says 'Training is a priveledge'.
I also need to measure myself tomorrow, because I haven't done that, and I don't think the scale has moved much from last week... so at least I will have the bi-weekly measurements...
This week will be a challenge for me, I have a business trip to CA on Wed-Fri. I have checked at the hotel and they have a gym, which may not be great, but will have to do. I will take my oat bran/protein powder for breakfast each day with me, not sure what else to take...
Have a wonderful Monday everyone!
