May be you should try some mass gainer the extra calories should help to put on weight.
otherwise up your calory intake to 3000 or 4000 calories.
if you w ant to bulk muscle you should try havier weights and use protein shakes or bars either will do the same job.

i am the same as you. what you have to do to bulk is take in around 3000 calories. drink alot of protein bars and shakes as you can afterwards. train at least twice a day and you will be big. take in around 150g of protein.

If he's "eating so much", he should have passed just 3000 cals by now.
Take in 6000. That's what I had to do.

You have two choices... Start training right and start eating like a man. 4,000 calories isn't jack sh!t.
OR
Give up and find something else for you. Find something much easier without as much reward in the end for you.

Isn't 4000 cals more than enough for a 120lber to gain on?

Yah if he wants to gain slow. Sounds to me like the OP is just impatient and being whiny for gains.

I have to agree with RAMBO316, you can't gain muscle too fast, it takes time to growth and expand in natural, if you use supplement, it will be a whole difference story.......you could use creatine before work out 45 mins ( available in Walmart) but supplement just give you a big but not cut muscle ( you know what i mean...)

It depends on what your ideal macronutrient ratios are. Generally speaking, the most calorie dense foods are fats; nuts, oils, fatty red meats, cheeses, etc. However, if you're seeking to gain quality weight, you will want to limit your fats to around 20%, and usually no more than 30% in the most extreme cases. This is because carbohydrate probably comprises the bulk of your calories, or at least 50% of them. You will not want to eat excess fat calories along with large amounts of carbohydrate because this will put you on the fast track to fat gain. Depending on how sensitive you are to carbohydrates, and how lean you are already, your diet should be anywhere from 40% to 60% carbohydrate. For a 4000 calorie diet, this would be 1600-2400 calories, or 400-600g carbohydrate per day. I'd lean toward the 60% if I were you. Your protein should be fairly high; in your case, 250g per day would be pretty high given your body weight, yet certainly attainable without much expense. The rest of your calories would come from fats, which would be a modest 67g. This should be mainly from EFAs such as flax seed oil and fish oil. If you keep your protein sources lean, you'll have no problem in making the majority of your fat intake from unsaturated fats, which is ideal since saturated fats lower insulin sensitivity.
4000 calories per day: 600g carbohydrate, 250g protein, 67g fat = weight gain.
As you gain experience, you'll learn how to tailor your macronutrients for your body; you'll see which you should raise, lower, or keep the same. This would be a good starting point for an ectomorph, though.
