Cardio and weight training

I have a friend who has been weight training for the past year. He is a naturally slim/skinny person with roughly 5-8% body fat. He's started martial arts which invloves a lot of cardio work.

He would like to put on some more muscle mass whilst improving his agility, speed, endurance/stamina.

Is it possible he can do both i.e. gain muscle mass and continue to do cardio for his martial arts training?

Comments most welcome!

You can have a balance of both. Provided he trains with full range of motion. I would also recommend increasing carbs to add mass and replenish muscles especially while doing cardio.

Cheers for the advice gbuzzz! I'll let him know. So up the carbs when doing cardio.

Hi, "Red...",
Successful b.b.s alternate cardio (running, for ex.) with weights. Usually, by increasing the weights (set to set), gains are made.
