Purple K creatine
Hi,
I'm looking for Creatine, and the guys at the supplement store say Purple K is the next generation in Creatine because it does not retain water and make you bloated.
Is this true?
I've searched the site and found nothing on Purple K, but much on Purple wrath...
Thanks!

Thanks Sapper,
Only problem is if he's a rep, he'll only have good things to say and will obviously be biased. I'd like to know if someone tried it before and if so, how it ranked.

Well.
I don't know if this is normal or even if it psychological, but here it is:
I've started this last Monday (a week ago) and today I went to the gym not more motivated then normal. As my workout progressed, I noticed I was able to do more reps per sets. I decided to take heavier weights and was able to still do more reps then normal!
Every exercise, same result: more weight, more reps. Fantastic workout. I haven't had this kind of feeling for a long time. I never took creatine before. I asked how long before I could feel the benefits and the guy said one week. I thought "yeah whatever, that doesn't mean anything then, you can't have results in one week, that's impossible." But here it is. I've lifted way more today and my muscles seem much more pumped.
One guy at the gym said that's because I've never done any creatine before. the pump will wear out and I'll have to cycle in and out to get the same feeling.
But hell, just for the record, I love this product. I'll update this thread as time passes.
Today was Chest and Tri's.

With a creatine product you want it to retain some water for you, but hopefully you are keeping that water in the muscle and not "bloating" with water under the skin. I found that when I used Purple K that I indeed didn't feel the same amount of bloating that I had when I've used creatine monohydrate previously. It could be that with PK being in pill form that I wasn't drinking as much liquid at the time of ingestion, or it could've been from the fact that there are no sugary-carbs in PK. Either way, it worked well for me, and I like to use PK during my pre-contest phases (when $$$ permits me to).

Nice Deadlift, Sapper, I've been watching it for about 10 mins now.
Back to the topic, today was leg day. Still more strength. I added 30 lbs to my squats on the first set. After, the deadlifts seemed easier too, but still grueling.
I found I was able to concentrate on the exercises much more and feeling less of that crazy burn. I did one leg ham curls and actually really concentrated without that annoying burn in your hams during the exercise.
I also added 15 lbs to my good mornings and to my one leg calf raises.
Another great workout.

Please keep updating, i was also thinking of taking this product as my first creatine.
Sounds really good from most reviews, but one study shows it doesn't do what it's advertised for about breaking down in the stomach. It will still have the effects of creatine though.

A good test would be how much you had to piss. Creatine monohydrate makes u urinate constantly.

If you're going to use Kre-Alkalyn, Purple-K is a good choice. I had better results with that than other brands...

I dunno about all that but when I'm on Purple K I notice my arms are a lot more pumped up and lean looking all the time, I'm a big dude as it is so it's a very noticeable effect for me. With mono I got the strength and size but also was pretty soft at the same time.

I have been using Purple K for about a month, I think it works very good. I feel like my veins stick out more, and I am gaining mass quicker. No bloating at all. It's good stuff.

You do not bloat with Purple K because it is pH buffered, which allows it to get past the stomach without being converted into Creatinine. Creatinine is what causes the abdominal bloating. (Not sure if they use an enteric coating or buffer it through some other means)

Well, time for an update.
I've taken a bottle last year (when I created this thread) from october to December, 130 caps total and my logs are up in this thread.
This year, I decided to try it a second time, giving myself a good break of creatine through the year.
I started this second bottle in late September and the results have been fabulous once again. I've never tried other creatines before, but I will stick with this one.
I can see the difference in the weight that I can lift, Purple K really does make me stronger. My goal, when I get off it in January, is to be able to keep up the heavy lift while off creatine to lead me into the summer.
This time though, there was a special with Purple K, they gave you a bottle of PUMPtech with it for free. I started the creatine in late september, notice an instant difference. But late october I took the pumptech and I can't say it made a difference. I'm now almost done my pumptech and well, I will not buy another bottle of this.
Last year, at xmas, I was 184 lbs. I worked out all year, lost fat last summer and been bulking up since early september and I'm at 185 lbs right now. I project I will be able to reach 187 lbs or 188lbs by xmas, wich is an improvement for last year, which is exactly what I wanted.
One of my buddies told me that the second time I took creatine I would not see the same huge effects... but I did.
Ram, I take 1 pill before workout with an apple and one scoop of isolate with water, then 2 pills after workout with dextrose and 2 scoops of isolate. On non workout days I take 2 pills in the morning with 2 whole eggs, 250 ml egg whites and 1 cup of oats.
For the others, I've never felt bloated from being on purple K. The real only difference I see is strength gains.
I will be continuing with Purple K for damn sure.

buffered creatine has been shown to break down into creatinine at a much faster rate than monohydrate.

please provide evidence. it does not break down any faster, but evidence suggests it breaks down at the SAME rate

the highlight being this: In contrast to the claims of All American Pharmaceutical and Natural Foods Corp., the rate of creatinine formation from CM was found to be less than 1% of the initial dose, demonstrating that CM is extremely stable under acidic conditions that replicate those of the stomach. This study also showed that KA supplementation actually resulted in 35% greater conversion of creatine to creatinine than CM. In conclusion the conversion of creatine to creatinine is not a limitation in the delivery of creatine from CM and KA is less stable than CM in the acid conditions of the stomach.

OK, finished my second bottle of the stuff and saw nice gains, you can check my profile to see the weight gain curve in my weight.
Sure, not all of it was lean mass, but compared to last year, I have the same BF% and I weighed 6 lbs more at xmas which is awsome.
I'm not saying all this is due to Purple K, I eat well, I take whey isolate etc etc...
I will now attempt to keep my strength as I stop using purple K for the next months until I start a cut for the summer.
Definatly though, I've seen gains in my strength big time. Every exercises across the board. I'm at the point now where I see no point in trying any other creatine, I've taken 2 bottles of this stuff, a year apart and I see the exact same results - strength gain and with it, muscle mass.
That's my review for now, I'm going to probably update it after the summer when I pick up another bottle of purple K.
What l would like to know is if anyone has had no effects from taking it? I did not find anyone in such a situation on this board.
Ciao for now.

Thanks for the update Conan - more reviews can be found at http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=111872411. I try to keep this updated as much as possible and should someone leave a negative review - I'll post that as well.
Cheers!
