breast aug...thanks for any help/ideas ladies...

Hey there fellow bb ladies

I've been steadily losing weight during the past few months...but as I continue to drop lbs, my boobs are almost nearly gone. Like I seriously feel like I have a couple of mosquito bites. (They are bigger in my pic that what they are right now ). I feel a major loss of femininity without them, and though cosmetic surgery was never really something I ever thought about before, I am now seriously contemplating it. I am happy with most of my body...but I do feel that this would improve my self esteem somewhat and help me feel a bit more feminine.

The one problem I have is that there is no way I'd be able to afford the surgery up front. I've been told of several different financing programs/loans, with monthly installment plans - which seem reasonable to me (like carecredit).

If you've had a breast augmentation did you pay for surgery up front or did you choose a financing program? And...about how long out of the gym? Hehe...that is of course a concern of mine

Well thanks for any help or ideas ladies...this has just been something I've been seriously thinking about and would love to hear your advice or suggestions.

hi,
I am having mine done tomorrow - FREAKING OUT! - I got a loan through my bank, they let me have the money if I went with a longer term, I could not get $10,000 over 5 years because of my income, but they let me pay it over 7 years, as the repayments would be less this way. I would not go through a credit/loan company, they are pretty dodgy here in australia, but it may be different where you are, that's just my opinion.
As for the getting back in the gym, Im hoping is not longer than 2 weeks, I know what you mean, that long out of gym will be a killer!
I'll keep you informed if you like.
Best of luck with your decision, I'm sure you'll make the right one.

I had mine done and it took about 5 days for me to strat moving around pretty well, return to work, etc. But going to the gym and actually lifting weights takes longer-- usually about 4-6 weeks. It hurts to lift your arms above your head let alone lifting something with weight to it! Also, running is tough as they bounce- walking might be a good option.

Listen to your dr., follow his/ her directions and if it hurts, STOP!!!

I paid cash for mine from an inheritance but I know plenty of ladies that used financing, both through their dr. and through their banks.

good luck!!

Well thanks so much ladies - that gives me greater assurance that many go through financing for cosmetic procedures. I've just heard so many recommend waiting until you can pay for 1/2 or most of it...but my credit is in very good standing and I could definitely make the monthly payments.

BethaneyJane, please do keep me (and others reading) updated! Would love to hear how the procedure goes for you!

Thx again

I had my Breast Aug in September 2007. I had half saved and had the other half financed. It was the best decision I have ever made. I was very small, I didnt even need to wear a bra because there was nothing to fit in a bra. But I got them and now I am a sexy baby D! I went through the belly button, also known as "TUBA" and the recovery time was so fast! Plus no scars or stitches to worry about. Anyways before I got my boobs done they were mylife, I did so much research I could write a book. So let me know if you have anymore questions or concerns I would be glad to help you!! xo Michelle

hi all
typibg may be a biut incohensive, sorry, i am 5 days out of my surgery now, I think unfortunately i was one of those girls who did not handle it well, low pain threshhold! But today id good, i am still very weak and have head spins from the sleeping drugs, but today I can type, stand and sit, go the toilet and button my own shirt.

about 35 hours after was pure pain for me, i had regrets, my boyfriends was so great but at a loss as to how to help me, I could barely breathe, incredible stabbing pains, couldnt cry from the pain as that hurt and thought I ws done for! But my wonderful surgeon came a round at 11.30pm with an injection which calmed me down and some sleeping meds, had a look, said all was fine, he has called or dropped in everyday since -

so please make sure you have a good surgeon like mine!

today is good, im positive, im a bit or pain, but its bearable, watched some funny movies, read monica brants book and cant wait to clothes shop - and for the first time i looked at them! wow - that lifts your spirits like a drug! i will keep you informed, staying positive and lots of vitamin rich foods for me, love to you all, Beth.

Hello there. Well I had my surgery done 7 years ago. I went back to work 4 days after and started doing easy cardio about a week after. I tolerate pain pretty well though.

It was the BEST thing I have done for myself (other than buying strappy sandals of course). I was and still am very happy, since I was very small and cute tops wouldn't fit me.

I financed my surgery.

Hey gorgeous. That is some great advice . Thank u! My wallet is quite thin at the moment and my aspirations of getting this done may have to wait until after Christmas...or maybe a gift to myself?! Hehe. I'm pretty excited since I've always been flatter than a board...the extra curves would make me feel quite nice I think

Hi
I saved up to pay for mine up front. It took over a year but this gave me plenty of time to research and decide that I was doing the right thing.

Mine were over the muscle so I felt pretty much OK after 2 days, but did not start walking my dogs until after 4 weeks in case I tore the stitches and waited until 6 weeks before starting horse riding again (was not into weights at the time).

I think the internet is really good, there are loads of before and after pics you can use to look for people with a similar frame, you can take these to your surgeon to help get a clear idea of what you are after.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Under the Muscle...

I had my implants done over 8 years ago and just ran into a small issue this month.

I found a small lump on the left side of my breast (under the armpit) and when I had it checked out, the doctor said it was not anything to worry about, however, I was lucky that I made the choice to go under the muscle. I didn't know this at the time, but by going under the muscle allows the doctors to easy see and analyze any lumps if they occur.

I love my girls and knowing what I know now, I would tell every one to go UNDER THE MUSCLE. I also was able to breastfeed my son with no problems!!!

I had my surgery 3 years ago.

It was paid for mostly by my insurance because of some precancerous tissue I had removed.

It was outpatient surgery, and when I came home... I sat right down at the computer and blogged all about it!

I even webcammed with some of my friends much to my dismay when the pain killers wore off :O

I prepared my 'recovery spot' prior to leaving the house that day...I slept in the recliner the first 2 nights and had water, pain killers, bromelain, arnica montana 30x, and colace all within arms reach.

I had meals prepared ahead of time that just needed reheating.

I must admit that at first I felt a bit like Barbie with the high and hard boobage... I also felt freakishly HUGE! I went from a barely Acup to a full Dcup in a matter of hours though.

I am a runner and the ONLY complaint I have is that running is a bit more difficult... even with 2 good sports bras on. I do not want my implants to fall, so I rarely run like I used to. I got saline textured implants under the muscle.

I went to implantinfo.com and researched TONS!

I have before/after pics (bikini pics) if you want to see the results.
