yea clap pushups is definitely explosive and works ur serratus for punching, but it just seems like doing pullups explosively would need immense power. but im saying from the looks of the video there...

depends on ur goals really. for strength definitely drop the weight with control. a real deadlift is only supposed to be the concentric portion of the lift. for hypertrophy lower it slower, but still...
