But I do understand that takedown defense has a lot more to do with hip control and balance than with strength. And when an Olympic wrestler wants to take down a noob, said noob is going down.

I don't see why anyone would care if he brings more of a "spectacle" to MMA. As long as the fights stay real, who gives a **** if they throw in a few more pyrotechnics and dancing girls.

I don't see it as a "sign of weakness" if you do what's best for your company. Moving the date would just be smart business. I don't think MMA has to fear losing fans to boxing, anyway. ...

What I meant is that boxing isn't direct competition for the UFC. Strikeforce would be, but not this fight. That's why I say Dana should just let this be and move the UFC event to another date.

I agree. It's one thing to try to counter-program against your direct competition (such as Strikeforce). But in this case, they're different sports. Let fight fans have both.

The division is dying for some new blood. When a guy who's 4-0 is legitimately the best guy for a title shot (and he doesn't have a huge WWF fanbase), you've got problems.
