can you get a tough workout from a cardio row machine?

Wondering if I should invest in a cardio row machine for my home but I'd like to know if they can provide challenging enough workouts (I do mostly HIIT training) first. Any one ever used one?

Is this how much you guys eat? Because I've been doing fine adding muscle AND losing fat at this calorie amount. I'm sure eventually I'll hit a plateau in which case I'll step it up.
