It will help, but from my friends who cycle / workout legs properly, i am fairly sure that doing a structured leg workout will be more effective, squatting and leg press should...
I do muscle sets like back and biceps one day, chest shoulders and triceps the next, then legs and abs at the end. Do 2 exercises for each muscle, so somewhere around 4 exercises per workout.
I think the most effective thing to do would be stop working out, because if you're not gonna do something properly why the **** do it.
Work on your arms, your back, your chest, your shoulders,...

Lower the weight and get your form right. No point doing it heavy if its wrong, go back to 200lb at the most and work on your form.
