nice review. To see if you would like a 17.5" bench better, lay 1 45lb plate on the ground flat where your feet will go and have each foot on a 45lb plate. This should give you the inch difference

I have never used straps so i cant comment on them.

Im sure the straps are good and are rated high but i wouldnt trust them like i would metal. A sharp knurl can wear nylon down but it cant wear...

Out of all these options listed, I would say either EFS or Rogue simply because they offer pin/pipe safeties. These are a must IMO. Those quick release safeties can bend if you drop a lot of weight...

IMO they need to make a bench at a height of 17.5" or 17" and they need to make their pad stickier.

I have the flat R bench and the only think i like is how stiff it is.

i like the nylon mesh on the sides, but im w/ you OP, im not sure how long it will last

You could box squat in 24 inches, but i would feel more comfortable in a 30 inch rack.

EFS needs to step up their customer service. I dont hear complaints very often about EFS, but when i do it seems they take a lil too long to fix whats wrong.

when i said 24 inches is inadequate. i didnt mean it wasnt big enough, i meant other companies offer 30 inches(squatting clearance) so i think R should do the same.

Seems like everytime R comes out with something someone starts a new thread about it.

24 squatting clearance is inadequate imo. My crappy old bodysolid rack has 27 inch clearance
