I work a 5 day split too, mon-fri (legs, chest, back, shoulders, bi/tri), so technically its 7 days rest between body parts. I know its not really 7 full days, but its enough rest.
The reason I'm getting the belt is because We have the rubber coated dumbells, and people drop them when there done dipping, and the middle screw is starting to strip away.

I had the same problem. I tried Chalk and it actually helped me alot. The bar will still slip, but where I usually lost grip after 3 reps I can get at least 6 now.
