Post workout is fine, infact 30g of whey and 30g of dextrose after lifting is encouraged. Just keep it to post workout though. The rest of the day should be whole foods.
Yes it is too much. Three to four days a week is plenty. Never do cardio directly before weight training, nor should you really do it afterwards either. Cardio is best performed on non lifting days...
I know it doesn't need to be said, but I hope you guys are avoiding lifts like dead lifts and squats. I'm sure it's mass you are all after, and those two "lifts" will only interfere with that.
